Kenmore Elite speedcook oven Model 63799. F2 displayed after the touch screen wouldn't automatically shut off and touch buttons below wouldn't work. What does F2 mean and are their major problems with this model? This will be my second one in 3 years that has had a problem. Both Brand new when purchased. The first time was the whole control panel, and I ended up returning it to the store because it failed within a month or two.
F2 error means :

1. The oven temp has risen above 665F and the door is not locked or
2. The temp has risen above 965F with the door locked

if this happens you should check:

1. Check oven temp in mode that failure occurred. Replace EOC (Electronic Oven Control) if above limits
2. Check and replace oven temperature sensor if necessary

The problem is the microwave was not being used. I found that the display screen light was still on when I woke up in the morning. I did use the microwave the night before when I popped a small bag of popcorn using the popcorn button. 90 seconds max.
