Getting "busy" display on all modes except no-flash mode...

Referring user guide:



Are you press ligthly? if press half and ligthly, it will not take the picture.

When you have using macro mode, you need to disable Flash mode.macro mode will show picture(flower) and avoid hand shake during this mode.
When you take in 10cm range in macro mode, it will take more longer time to autofoucus, you need to be freeze a while until it take the picture. The best it, try to take picture in without you inhale. it will avoid you from shage

Try using in different DIS mode when you using the flash.
In some mode, it will have twice flash. First flash it will check the condition and wait until second flash and dont move your camera.

Some condition, you will get the picture is white, it because from dust atmhospheric that we cant see. it reflective to ur flash.for the best picture, you need to try in different mode and different condition. that will make you as proffesional. this camera have many mode that you need to understand. training urself to be perfect. download manual and test your camera

This sounds like a flash configuration issue combined with the continuous shooting mode, which will take 3 pictures in rapid succession and display "busy" while the flash is recycling. For starters, switch it back to single shot mode. That's the button that looks like the stack of pages and the timer clock. Then turn off the flash. That's the icon with the flash lightning image with the bar through it.
You will probably need to adjust your ISO, shutter speed, and aperture setting to get a good low-light shot.

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the memory card.
3. Remove the batteries.
4. Wait at least 3-5 minutes.
5. Place the memory card and batteries.
6. Turn on the camera in any mode except review mode.
7. Take any ordinary picture.
8. Change the camera mode to review.
9. What happened now. Is everything normal. if not please write a comment to explain the situation.

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open).

To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

Note that your camera does not have shutter priority mode (Tv) as listed in the link. Instead, put the camera in manual mode and turn off the flash, and also turn off the LCD display (press the DISP button). With these settings, try the fix in a darkened room, opening the battery door immediately after taking the picture. Give it several tries, if no luck consider also trying step 5a described in the link.

Now the A410 is not capable of taking 15 second exposures as recommended for the fix. Instead try setting the camera to manual mode, turn off the flash, got to a darkened room, and take a picture. Open the battery door while the red and yellow light are flashing. If after many tries this does not work, then consider trying Fix #5a on the site. But do so with the camera turned off and the lens retracted to lessen the chance of damaging the lens mechanism.

I just called Canon because I was having the same problem. They suggested putting the camera in the sports mode. The reason it flashes busy is because there is a buffer period after taking pictures where the camera needs to store the information to the disk or if using a flash, then the flash needs to recharge. If you have plenty of natural light, then the full auto (the green square) mode can be selected because the flash won't have to recharge. If you are using the portait mode, then you will have to wait for the buffer period for the flash to recharge and the information to be stored to the disk.

bad memory card most likely.
try reformatting card in camera.
try battery out for 10 seconds for full reset if that does not work.
may have a problem writing to card.
you can also try another card. cf i believe on that camera.

With the camera on and in picture taking mode, hit the OK button. This button cycles the display through a number of modes, including one that is normally off (except when using the menu or view).
