My carrera keeps stopping at random points during the day. When I take it off at night it does not hold a charge for very long and I usually have to reset it in the morning. Sometimes the weight suddenly spins rapidly as if it has been overwound, sometimes I cannot wind it at all, and it feels as if it has caught and locked somewhere.

This maybe as simple as the swing weight not being secured properly or as complicated as main spring attachment or gear drive problems. Go to a watch maker / technician familiar with the TAG and have a quick inspection done. I would also consider having a full service done on the watch to save money and prevent problems.

I have had my Grand Carrera for 7 months and I don't always wear it every day. Recently, I noticed the hands quit moving, usually a light shake would restart them. There is also a noise when I move the...

This sounds to me as the Oscillating weight is getting loose and touching the movement. There could be a loose screw as well. That's why your watch is stopping (not enough power to fully auto-wind the spring). There is nothing you can do, I'm afraid, but to show watch to the watchmaker for proper inspection. The longer you'll wear it as it is - the more damage will be done.

My Carrera automatic does not keep time, it loses at least 2 minutes a day

2 minutes a few months is OK but 2 minutes a day is too much. Bring it to service center for clean & service.

I have a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera. It worked perfectly for a year. But now, it doesnt work. When I shake the watch, it starts and then stops again after few minutes. I was told to wind it. But I dont know...

If your watch is "automatic" then would I be right in thinking you took it off for a few days and it stopped?

If this is the case (since most of the Carrera range are automatic, then the spring will have run down and needs re-winding.

You were correct in thinking that shaking it will re- start it but to keep it going you need to shake it gently from side to side for some time. (One supplier quoted 500 times!) be patient and keep wearing it.

Do Carrera automatic watch need a battery to run? because it stop me alot that why it just run for a few mins and stop forever until i move again

Automatic watches are mechanical (spring driven) and they are wound by the gentle swinging of the arm as you walk.

If yours has stopped, then it needs to re-wound by swinging it side to side (keeping the watch face level).

You will need to do this for some time (as many as 300 times, according to one maker).

When fully would the watch should run for about 3 days if not worn.

These watches thrive on use!

I have a TAG HEUER Grand Carrera and the second has stopped

Are you aware that these are automatic watches and need to be moved to keep the watch going, kinetic energy winds up the movement which allows it to keep going, if it is left off your wrist and in a drawer or sat stationary it will stop. Shake it violently (without dropping it) and it will restart.
