That doesn't come up as a GE motor, any other info?

The hook up diagram should be on the motor.

If you're running 3 phase, swap 2 infeed wires. If you're running single phase, look in the wiring diagram in the motor head for the wires to move.

Your compressor was made by Porter Cable for Sears. The motor / pump is used on many different compressor models depending on tank size and style options. None of the models /including yours/ were ever designed for 115/220v. I did happen to see a compressor that was built for european destination that was 220v. It was easy to identify because it had a two round prong male plug (it could not be wired for 115v however). Good Luck

Single phase motor for 230V, connect T4 and T5, to one line. T2, T3, T8 common connected. T1 to other line. Check Rotation, This should be for CCW rotation facing output shaft. Swap T5 and T8 for CW rotation.

Your Craftsman model 919.165200, 5hp, 20 gallon compressor was designed to run on 115~120v 15amp. I believe that it was made by Campbell Hausfeld and is of the oilless single cylinder type. If however your compressor is oil lubed and has a motor /drive belt configuration it may be able to convert if there is a spec plate on the motor with alternate wiring diagram. Many high-end compressors like Rol Air, Jenny, Dewalt, etc with motor/belt drive have a switch selectable voltage, however one must still change the power cord when using 220v. I found a local small motor technician who was able to help with the wiring configuration for the 110/220: I had wanted the motor to run on 110V

A #10AWG wire can be use and 40Amp breaker can be use also. Your 5hp/230V/1/60hz motor amp is 30A.

I can't blame you for askig, but here's my response. 5 HP is 3750 running watts. or about 35 amps at 110 volts and it would take somewhere around 50 amps to start it provided the motor could even be wired for 110 which I don't believe it can and for that exact reason. I'm sorry, but it's just not practical.
