We have a Carlon battery door chime. We changed all the batteries and it rings but it says to change the batteries after each time you press the button.

The batteries have depleted voltage in storage or they are fakes. Use Duracell from a reliable source. If you have a multi-tester, check the voltage.

How do I change ringtone on RC4120R

Do you mean the Carlon RC4120 wireless battery door chime? If so, press the small button below the chime button to hear the next tone or melody selection. Wait until this melody is finished playing before pressing the button again. Repeat the press the button and wait for the melody to play, as needed to get a melody/tone that you like. To save the current selected melody or tone, do not press the small button again.

I hope this helps. To see a picture of the chime button to see the location of the melody change button, see http://www.lamson-home.com/ProductSupport/WirelessChimes/RC4120IM_10.06_vF.pdf .

How do I change the batteries in my Carlon RC8800R doorbell

Do you need to replace the batteries in the chime button or the receiver? To change the batteries on the doorbell (chime button) for most Carlon models, you need a ballpoint pen first to remove the chime button from the back. Press the pen point in the small round hole at the bottom of the button. Then gently push in on the tab. Finally rotate the chime button cover up and away from the back cover. Next take the ballpoint pen or a small screwdriver and place it in the slot below the top battery. Lift the battery up. Repeat this with the second battery. Then place the replacement CR2032 batteries into the battery compartment one at a time with the positive side up.

For the most of the wireless receivers, press the center of the brass tubes and lift those free to replace the 4 D cell batteries (2 behind each tube). A few models have a more obvious battery cover for a set of 4 AA cell batteries.

Many Carlon wireless chime manuals are available here: http://www.lamson-home.com/WirelessChimes.php . The direct link to the manual listed for the RC8800R is http://www.lamson-home.com/ProductSupport/WirelessChimes/RC3304_4300IM_3.06_v2.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How do i add a second switch to my rc8233r?

I would try Ebay first (or search the net for availability and prices). I bought CR2032 3V Button Cell (that are used in my Carlon door chime buttons) batteries. I got 10 for under $5. Carlon (Thomas & Betts) still makes a variety of door chimes and accessories. However, on their site, the prices are atrocious. But, I think that Thomas & Betts deals in bulk (as in dealing with retailers). Because they list their items in bulk price form. I personally have 5 T&B wireless door chimes. Hence, 4 of the buttons are in storage. Out of curiosity, I tried all of them. All 4 extra buttons rang all the door chimes. Caution, on the packages of the door "chimes" I purchased. There's a blurb on there that states the wireless buttons for the "door chimes" will not work with the "doorbells". If you have the packaging for the one you have. It will explain. I'm not positive, but it seems the variance is due to whether you use battery or electric powered models. Hope I was of assistance...Greg

The Carlon RC8800R door chime, quicks chiming usally within two days of mounting the base unit interior wall. If I take down and re-arrange the 4-D size batteries in sometimes starts chiming again. Is the base unit just a "lemon"?
