test the monitor on 2nd good PC,
    easy no?
is PC silent all fans dead, say so, tell it.

  • Anonymous Oct 30, 2020

the monitor manual of unstated monitor tells you how to test the monitor even all by its self, using 2 buttons power and menu.
ask. or RTM, read the manual.
good monitors even have color test pattern test. (all by itself)
no PC told no Monitor told.
NO JOY for anyone; for sure you.
saying just acer is useless, ok?

  • Anonymous Oct 30, 2020

    one step for man.. and....
if yes we can test it all by itself
want to? it is easy , child's play actually.
    simple. (hint the menu button)

the Maid tripped on the cord.
the power is out in the neighborhood.
the PC is not turned on nor monitor.
the screen shows noboot , or PW failed.
the monitor is pre 2010 and is dead as all are now, CCLF monitors are all dead now 99%

  • Anonymous Nov 19, 2020

it's mostly 20 things, but mostly only matters by age, no PC told at all,. zero facts useful. (a dead PC sure)
The new PC failing is not the same as old 5+ year PC with dead batteries. or bad hDD.
if the PC makes noise(fans) test the monitor on a 2nd PC, and solve 1/2 the possible causes in 1 act.
    do it now.

If i take my PC apart, fully i count 20 things, all can short and make the PC dead.
every one (elecronics modules) my loptop has 25+ parts. NO PC told no good help possible I bet. heck reseat them all.

  • Anonymous Nov 19, 2020

never use ERASER on gold fingers on parts.
use IPA, to clean gold RAM fingers, never use abrasives on gold ever. the here are 20 causes
not one, but do have fun doing more damage than exist now.

  • Anonymous Nov 20, 2020

OP turn the Monitor on LAST; not first
this magic way allows the turned on now monitor to tell you what's up. (mon Brain)
errors from MON talk to you (text)
NO SIGnal ,means dead PC or cables bad.
NO sync.dead PC or cables bad.
no connections, dead pc or wrong jack or you have OSD menu set to wrong MON JACK or cables bad, or you plugged in cable to wrong PC port, some have 1 to 5 video ports, mine does. only the GPU card port works if present in the x16 slot, if not there, use main jack on chassis of PC.

out of range. (put PC in safe mode see good.)

if the OSD menu button is dead the monitor is bad. (power on mon, hit menu under 15seconds)

if monitor fails in 2nd PC the monitor is bad.
that is the rock and roll test of all desktops real (never AIO fake desktops)

the word laptop not once told
they said MONITOR< so we can only assume that is not a lie. (hint meant screen laptop))
NO PC told , no monitor model told.
there is no way to help anyone with no facts told, other than my post generic.

Dead PCs have over 20 cause, need a list.
top #1 all time cause is bad RTC coin cells.
a true monitor failure all time #1cause is
very old pre 1010 CCFL monitors all dead backamps now, OSD dead too, proves this fact.
Monitor that shows no signal is dead PC.

Acer.com will not help you ether lacking this.
OP please post PC model. and Monitor model.
the service tag on that Desktop can be on any of its 6 sides, yes even the bottom
    post that.
the turn the monitor around see that tag there, sticker, read the model there first
then tell what you have. we can NOT GUESS WHAT PC you have. ever.
thus all my generic answers, and wrong others.

top fail is RTC coin cell dead.
and now BIOS is dead, fans spin, screens dead VGA port dead., if lucky the PC tells you RTC battery is dead, (dells do but not lame duck, Acer)
all shops check the battery first. or go broke fast.
    a: remove RTC coin
    b: voltmeter (any) in hand.
c: above 2.9vdc good below bad. 3.3v par.
or just replace it gee sold at even walmart.
(in watch dept or auto battery sales)
some car fobs use the same 2032 battery a good fact to know, and sources. (cheaper)

Why is the power light on my Acer monitor flashing?

See this.. http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f25/acer-monitor-is-blank-and-power-light-flashing-green-318760.html
Also, here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.
Good luck.

Sansui no signal

Acer produces a number of LCD computer monitors. Acer's monitors range from 17 inches to 27 inches. Some monitors offer wide-screen viewing, embedded speakers, high-definition visuals, and various display connection ports. Acer computer monitor problems include common issues such as dead pixels, error messages, and blank screens caused by incorrect connections. Some reviewers have also detected image problems with DVD playback on some models.

"Input Not Supported" Error Message Acer computer monitors such as the G24 may issue an "Input Not Supported" error message when users set the display resolution too high. The G24's maximum display resolution is 1920x1200 with a 60Hz refresh rate. Maximum resolutions vary according to the specific monitor model and according to the capabilities of the computer's video card. b> "Input Out of Range" b> Some Acer computer monitors may report an "Input Out of Range" error message due to incorrectly set monitor refresh rates. Much like the display resolution, each monitor also has specific monitor refresh rates with which it is compatible. Blank Screen or "No Signal" Error b> Like other monitors, Acer computer monitors feature color-coded power indicator lights. If the power indicator light shows green, the contrast or brightness levels may be set too low and should be adjusted via the OnScreen Display. If this does not rid the monitor of a black screen, the monitor may be experiencing hardware failure. The "No Signal" or "Check Cable message" may indicate a problem with the monitor's cable connection with the video card. This error may also appear on a blank screen backdrop if the monitor is plugged into the incorrect port on the computer or if the computer is frozen and needs to be rebooted. Faulty power cords or outlets may cause the screen to be black and to show no power indicator color. b> Image Issues b> Some review sites such as CNET have reported problems with streaking and ghosting during DVD playback on some Acer computer monitors such as the AL1931. (A "ghost" is an identical offset image as the primary or desired image.) Unstable or unclear image issues may be caused by incorrectly programmed VGA timings or incorrectly installed monitor drivers. b> Dead Pixels b> Dead pixels and sub-pixels can cause a variety of display enjoyment problems. Acer will only accept returns on LCD computer monitors that have "more than four (4) defective pixels per million pixels." Further, the central area of the monitor may have no more than one defective pixel. Acer does not differentiate in warranty terms between pixels and sub-pixels. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue as yours. After contacting the Acer support team, I got the response as follows. I tired and it worked.

"In order to resolve this issue, you may please perform a power reset. This will remove any static electricity stored in the hardware components that may cause the issue.

- Turn the monitor off and unplug the power cord and VGA cable from the monitor.

- Hold the power button on the unit down for 30 seconds.

- Release the power button and plug only the power cord back into the unit. "

Hope it helped.

Acer LCD Monitor only displays "acer" logo

You are correct, it could be a power surge that has caused it.

Try this..
Unplug the monitor from the wall.
Remove all the video connections at the monitor end.
Wait 10 minutes then plug the monitor back into the wall (do not connect the video leads)

Turn it on and see if it goes past the ACER logo now. If so, replace the video cables and try the computer.
If not, then one of these will apply and a tech will be required..
  1. The internal bios has been corrupted.
  2. The power supply inside the monitor may have issues preventing the video board from starting correctly. This could be as simple as a few failing capacitors.
Number 2 is the most likely cause with an Acer monitor though. Any local tech will be able to correct it fairly cheaply, but phone around for quotes..they can vary a lot.
