If your watch is battery operated, the most common reason is battery itself. Don't mind it was bought in January, because watch itself could be in shop storage for years (even if it is one of the new models).
If your watch is automatic/hand wound, then there might be a problem with movement and in this case you will need help of qualified watchmaker.
Pretty sure you just pop off the back, take out the old battery and put in a new one. Stores that sold watch batteries use to do it for you, some don't now. Liability reasons they say.
If the Jewellery Store was not an Authorised Tissot Repair Centre then it is likely that they have made a mistake - the T-Touch is the only watch in the world that has a touch screen - so they may not be very familiar with it.
It may be going into setup mode because there has been a new battery just installed - go through the procedure and see if it works. - Pretend it is like brand new and you have to set it up for the first time.
Hi, If your watch stopped working while changing the time it can be for a couple of reason . One is i never set the watch between the hours of 11 pm and 4 am or else your movement can be damaged. The main reason is usually that the watch crown was not pushed all the way in to the first set . If the watch crown and stem is pulled out and not in the start position the watch will not run. Also after setting time you might need to reengage the watch by pressing on the jumper buttons on the top side of the crown they look like push buttons.
There are a few possible reasons why your watch is not working:
The battery is dead (sometimes even new watches have a dead or dying battery in them).
The plastic piece between the crown and the watch case
was not removed (this protects the battery from wearing down until you
receive the watch).
You bought a watch with a damaged movement or somehow damaged the movement through usage and it just
will not work period so you may have to return it, exchange it, or have
it repaired
These are the 3 reasons why your watch could not
be working. The reason will fall into one of these 3 categories, so I
hope this helps!
Here's what I do. PULL OUT STEM (for some reason this has helped me charge stubborn watches). With stem pulled out set your watch under a UV lamp or other strong light. May take 24-48 hours under lamp to fully charge.
