SOURCE: Dell 944 All-in-One Printer - printhead carrier jam

I used the menu on the printer to select change print cartridge and pretended to change the cartridge. Then I aligned the cartridge and that seemed to work for me. I wish Dell would have elaborated on how to clear a "carrier jam." I'm glad others have had this problem and were able to fix it too!

SOURCE: How do you remove the printhead of a Kodak EasyShare 5300 printer?

Clarification: Remove tanks(cartridges)first. You see the bullseye target with a finger pointing to it.
Above the bullseye sticker, there's a rectangular button. Press it in until printhead dislodges.

SOURCE: Kodak printer

Hi Tammy,

Installing the print head is really easy. Actually, it just snaps out and the new one snaps in. The key is where you press on the print head to do this. If you go to the following URL you will see how to accomplish this. Go to:

http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/AiOPrinters/5300AiOPrinterUG_EN-US.pdf

This shows you how to change the print head in a 5300 model. It is similar to the others as well.

If this does not work for you. contact the 800 421 6699 number and ask them to walk you through installing the print head. It will only take a couple of minutes.

Best regards,

Ron Baird

SOURCE: replacing printhead in Kodak 5300 All in One Printer

on this website:
http://www.kodak.com/global/plugins/acrobat/en/service/manuals/AiOPrinters/printhead/AUR1780-9_UE_RevC.pdf

You can find illustrated instructions on how to remove the old printhead, as well as on how to put the new printhead back in place.

You can easily go to that website by going to:
www.kodak.com/go/printheadsupport

and selecting the second option "installing new printhead".

SOURCE: change printhead in 5500

To change the printer head on the Kodak 5500 AIO printer, you will need to do the following:

To remove the old printer head,

  1. Power on the printer.
  2. Lift up the lid to expose the printer head.
  3. Once the printer head moves to the middle, where you can get at it, then unplug the power cord to the printer.
  4. Remove the ink cartridges.
  5. With the printer head now empty, run your finder along the underside of the top of the printer head, all the way to the left side of the printer head.
  6. Push up with your finger where there is some give, and the shroud that holds the printer head will release the head.

To install the new head,

  1. Simply put it in place, and push forward with your finger on the sticker that shows a finger pushing on a sticker, and you will hear and feel it click into place.
  2. Reload your ink cartridges, close the lid, plug the printer back in and you're done.

Just drip a few drop of oil on the carriage rod. This might solve the problem.

Kadak Easy Share 5300 printer. Screen reads "Please wait"-stuck

Try this one
Take out the inks and printhead
Leave the cartridge door open, then unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while the access door is open
Close the cartridge door once the cord is unplugged
Reconnect the powercord, turn on the printer, then your printer will look for your printhead "Printhead missing or not installed correctly..."
Then put everything back. make sure it will snap in to place. Then print a calibration page, then scan it. This is just over writing the error message.
