If the LG red light is blinking 3 times, then I will suggest to try unplugging all HDMI and power cables, and then wait for a few minutes. After a few minutes connect the power cable and then do a re-test.

U know basic electronics,have tools and know basic soldering?Take the tv aparts,the power supply,that board where the a/c power cord plug into it.That the power supply board,searches the power supply board, for those dying about to be dead,capacitors alway bulges up on it tops or puff up on it tops.Replaced these dying and about to be dead capacitors,the tv power will up again and work.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay,com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I am sorry to hear regarding the trouble. This is a common problems on these sets.The symptoms you mentioned highly suggests an issue with power supply board.If you have electronics repair experience and wanted to repair it, revert and i would be glad to add few more inputs to the diagnosis unless investment in new TV is the best option.
For about $250, you can buy a new 26" LCD TV.
It would cost about $200 for a repair.
I think it might be better to buy a new TV. If you do, buy the extended warranty, they don't make them like they used to.

How to Program
Remotes With SET Button
1. Choose and press a device key i.e TV. LED will flash once.
2. Press "SET" Hold until the LED Lights up.
3. Enter the 4-digit Device code (refer code list).
4. The LED will flash once as each number is programmed at the end of the 4 digit the LED will turn off immediately if correct. If the LED flashes then something went wrong in the process. If the first code does not work then repeat the process with the next.
5. Important - Some brands use other manufacturers to make their devices if the codes available do not work the try the MAGIC search function.

2. Press and hold BOTH the CHANNEL UP AND VOLUME DOWN button until the LED Lights up.
3. Enter the 4-digit Device code (refer code list).
4. The LED will flash once as each number is programmed, at the end of the 4th digit the LED will turn off immediately if correct. If the LED flashes then something went wrong in the process. If the first code does not work then repeat the process with the next.
5. Important - Some brands use other manufacturers to make their devices if the codes available do not work the try the MAGIC search function.
MAGIC SEARCH FUNCTION
1. The magic search function enables you to scroll through the entire code list one by one by pushing the on/off button. Each time you push the on/off button the remote automatically switches to the next code in the list and sends a signal to the device you have chosen.
2. Choose and press a device key i.e TV. LED will flash once.
3. Press and hold the SET button or if no SET button then hold BOTH the CHANNEL UP AND VOLUME DOWN button until the LED Lights up.
4. Enter the 4-digit Device code (refer MAGIC list) i.e TV is 0001.
5. The LED will flash once as each number is programmed at the end of the 4 digit the LED will turn off immediately if correct. If the LED flashes then something went wrong in the process.
6. Start scrolling by pushing the ON/OFF button as soon as your TV or Chosen device turns OFF lock the code in by pushing the DEVICE key again.
