I am unsure whether you are asking for the control itself or the knob or ?
If you google for GE 169152 control part you will get some results, including some manuals. Once you find the part number of the part you are looking for, you can either look for that part online, or you should be able to find a local appliance part supply store/warehouse to get it from. I got a GE genuine temperatire control for my GE range last week from ReliableParts locally.
SOURCE: My GE old electric oven
It is most likely the thermocouple within the oven.It is usually mounted on the back,up towards the top, with 2 leads coming from it.Your oven is pretty old so it may or may not be found.Hopefully GE kept this same part in many units after yours was made. The thermocouple reads what the temperature is,compares it to what you want, and tells the oven what to do.There are 2 sections to it.If one goes bad,it easily would cause your problem and is a very common oven failure problem. If you do find it and replace it yourself, either unplug the oven or turn off the circuit breaker first.
Good luck,Greg
