Check the audio settings on the PC, sometimes different inputs require different settings. There should be input setting alternatives in the audio section in the control panel on your PC.

If using Win 10 and especially with a Dell, restart your PC with the trntbl powered on and connected to your PC. 9.974% of the time. hopefully you will fall into the higher side of the odds. lol. It's a driver issue they can't seem to correct in Windows.

SOURCE: Speakers work...just not when plugged into desktop

If you need some help troubleshooting your sound card post its manufacturer and model number, or if its built-into your motherboard its manuf and model number. The manufacturer and model of the PC in addition to your operating system would help as well.

SOURCE: turntable technics sl-bd27

You have 4 wires coming from the needle pickup to the cables which connect to the amplifier/receiver. I would check the needle, the pickup unit, and the leads from the pickup to the cables. You can probably run a continuity test or ohm test for verification. If that checks, pickup and needle is your next step.

SOURCE: technics turntable plays but no sound with Sherwood receiver

The problem is the fact that the new receiver has no phono input. The phono input has an extra stage of amplification built in. Your receiver is working fine. You need to purchase a phono pre-amp. These run around $20. Connect the turntable to the preamp and the presmp output to any line level input on your new receiver and everything will work as expected.

SOURCE: i PURCHASED A LIKE NEW TECHNICS SL BD27 TURNTABLE.

Yes you need a pre amp

It would also be the same if you connected it to a computer to record an LP to CD. Mine is a little different and has one already built in that I can switch in and out of line.

Try spend a little more if you can as many pre amps can introduce noise.

You may also want to check that the turntable is properly grounded to prevent noise too

Turntable only playing sound from one speaker.

It could be like you said cartridge (could be a bad connector and cartridge ok) or bad contacts in amp switch try switching it a few times? also check the phono plugs coming out of the turntable sometimes the metal bit breaks off on the centre pin .If you have a multimeter check across the phono plugs to measure cartridge coil resistance both channels should be the same. You could try swapping the leads around and if the sound swaps L/R that would mean fault on turntable no sound would mean one side of amp down.

Although my turntable seems to be fine there is hardly any sound coming through my amp/speakers from it. I'm using a different power lead for it since I've lost my original but it fits fine an

your needle has worn down, or the RCA leads(red & white) arn't plugged in to the phono socket on the amp,or you haven't selected phono on the source select,or you have the tape monitor button switched on.

I wired my technics 1210 turntable up to my usual audio set up and although it shows itself to be working, there's no sound coming from the speakers. Can anyone shed light on this?

First put your finger on the audio imputs for the deck in your amp. They should buzz with the amp switched on. If you can't get them to buzz, then the magnetic cartridge pre-amp in your amp has failed. If they do buzz. Take the wires to the cartridge off (make a note of where each one fits). Then with the amp powered up and deck plugged into it. Touch each wire one at a time with your finger. You should hear a buzz on two wires (one on the left one on the right) and nothing (much anyway) on the other two. If you don't hear any buzz there's something wrong with the connection cables to the amp. If you do hear the buzz, then the cartridge is dead.

Maybe the output is not good enough for line in on laptop try mic in, then double click the sound icon down bottom right where time is, goto options, properties, then recording inside of recording make sure all boxes are ticked so you have all options like mic wave stereo mix line and so on, click ok, now make sure what ever you have the turn tables pluged into is selected as your recording device and not muted try again, once this is all ok ., it should work. hope this helps. also make sure your software you use to record is also set up same. take care

Turntable turns, but there's no sound.

Well, the motor itself is completely separate from the sound. The path of the sound is basically

Styli -> Cartridge -> Tonearm -> RCA Cables -> Input Source

I would say start from the beginning. Check your stylus. If it's ok, then that means your Cartridge is probably ok. Make sure you have a secure connection from the tonearm to the cartridge assembly.

There really isn't much else to it.

If you cannot get it to work, I would suggest taking it to a service center for assistance.
