My camcorder says remove lins cap and it is removed

I have the jvc compact vhs camcorder model GR-SXM26OU
when u turn on it says remove lins cap. i did so it still says the samething.
also you cant see anything threw it bur a dark red tint. please help me please. thanks mike.

    WHEN I SWITCH THE CAMCORDER ON IT SAYS REMOVE THE LENS CAP.BUT THE LENS CAP IS REMOVED THERE'S JUST A BLANK SCREEN

    I have exactly the same problem with my JVC GR-DF460EK, I took it into Jessops who said that it would cost £220 to even look at it, they have to be joking right ! I've just seen all these other posts with exactly the same problem so JVC must have really messed up somewhere ! Please help ....

Defective ccd imager!! the
company will replace this
ccd imager free of charge.
Year 2002 up to 2005 released
unit has a factory defect ccd
imager. the company recalled
those units and replaced with
a stronger version of ccd
mager ( they are still doing it).
check it out.

Need to know what Cassette for this model jvc gr-sxm245

You can use VHS-C (C for compact) or S-VHS-C cassettes. The S-VHS-C is Super-VHS, for better quality recordings, but there isn't that much in it compared to digital. I'm assuming your camera has the S-VHS capability, as the title, otherwise stick to VHS-C.

I cant find a solution but causes may be :
1. Did you remove the LENSE CAP ?
2. PRobably there is a small switch that tells the camera that LENSE CAP is on or something dunno

About that recording problem
1. LCD Broken?

JVC compact VHS camcorder will not record.

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.
