Problems installing JVC USB drivers

The JVC USB driver was written before introduction of the Windows XP system. This warning is displayed with other manufacturer’s digital cameras, also, and is not strictly a JVC phenomenon. In order to use the USB interface between the camera and your computer, select the “CONTINUE anyway” option provided in this warning display. To JVC’s knowledge, there are no negative effects to using JVC driver with Windows XP.

My mom has an older

Hello, Regina - Without knowing the make and model of the camcorder it is a challenge to give you the best information. Instead, I suggest you take the camcorder to a store which specializes in cameras and related equipment. Someone at such a store can give you the best advice. Note: For more permanence of the videos you may want to have them transferred to a DVD. Best wishes.

Transfer movie from mini tape to computer - JVC GR-D770U

Product called EasyCap, for about 15 bucks, "can be found online" Has USB plug. Use your cable that has the 3.5 pin that goes out to rca cable, yellow, white and red. EasyCap has the RCA to USB then to computer. Use Windows Movie Maker, comes with XP & Vista, capture while playing from there. I just converted about 20 full tapes from one cannon mini 8 and 15 from a jvc dv onto a TB drive.

Can I connect my VHS-C or S-VHS-C camera to my computer?

Since VHSC camcorders feature only analog outputs: it is not possible to connect the camcorder directly to a PC (unless a computer video card is equipped with analog inputs). The only way to transfer images from the camcorder to a PC will be using an external device capable of analog/digital signal conversion. JVC has released a capture device model, GV-CB3U which has the capability of video capture of a single frame in either Bitmap or JPEG format. The GV-CB3 can be connected to any video source through a standard video or S-Video connector and download single image to a PC using serial port (RS232C communication port). The JLIP Video Capture software necessary to transfer images to the computer as well as connecting cables are supplied with this product. You can also use 3rd party hardware (Video Capturing device) to send information from your camera to a PC. Visit your local PC or Office store for more information on other video capturing devices.

Wont turn on or charge

This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

My EVERIO doesn't respond to controls

First disconnect power source (both battery and AC adaptor) then reconnect it. If that will not correct this situation, try the following reset procedure: press and hold simultaneously for more than 5 seconds both MENU and MODE buttons. This procedure will also restore all default settings in the camera.

I have still and video

If you have an AV Video Audio Out on the camera, as I suspect you do. Then you can get a USB Video/Audio Capture device, OR a PCI TV/Video capture card, (Best) and using that you can "Stream" the video over this link to the PC and save it as a Video file, say MPG4 or the like. This gives great results and is easy to do. You simply connect up the camera, start the Video capture software, and press Play on tape, so to speak, then you will be able to capture the video, and save it as you wish, then you can burn a DVD or send it to someone else. Otherwise you can get USB to Firewire converters and you can use that too. But you will still need the same video capture software and such. Dscaler is a great recording software.

Upload video

The USB on your camcorder is for downloading still pictures only. If you want to transfer video to your computer you need to hook up a firewire cable, which is to the right of the USB connection. Firewire is also known as 1394 connection.

Hope it helps.
