Kenmore waterheater piezo innotor won't re-light

This brandnew gas waterheater was installed three weeks ago. It worked fine for about a week and then stopped. I went up in the attic to see what is going on and discovered that there is no more fire burning to heat up the water. I tried to re-light it based on the instructions but the piezo ignitor won't lit it. I tried several times but to no avail. I don't have the phone # of the plumber who installed it. I got it from my neighbor but my neighbor is gone overseas for couple of months. The model # is 153.336572. How do I know if there is air in the line? Any help, please? Thanks.

Air in the line, disconnect the pilot supply and hold the button until you smell gas coming from the valve, that will remove the air, as for the igniter, test it by removing the connection and hold it about 1/8" away from the conenction and click it, should see a spark

No hot water from kitchen tap

The hot side of the faucet is most likely plugged with something that came up thru the water system. The average thankless waterheater requires at least 1/2 to 3/4 gpm flow rate for the unit to sense flow and turn on. If there is not enough flow it will not fire and heat the water. Not sure about this particular unit but a few require at least one full gallon per minute flow. So chances are that if you fix the faucet, you fix the hot water issue at the same time

Smell gas leaking out on windy days, pilot is still lit though

it sounds like the flue pipe out side may have something blocking it , it has a fresh air return on it and when the unit is blowing out it also pulls in the outside air, make sure ther is nothing in the way making the air circulate back in,

Pilot goes off every two to three weeks

Check voltage at the gas valve and at the thermocoupling. If you are reading more then 24 volts at the gas valve then replace it, or less then replace it also
