Sony tv was knocked out by lightning strike thru cable (also fried cable box and splitter). Get 3 red blinks and then recycles. From the internet, I apparently need to replace "main logic board".

Turn on very briefly and make sure the large red wire that entered the block is well away from any metal---if hear a frying sound and blink sequence is gone the block is bad( I used to put the wire into a old soda bottle as it has over 20 thousand volts coming out of it, much like the spark plug wires in a car---high voltage with low current.

If the tv will not turn on it is safe to assume that the electrical storm did damage something in your television.

Yeah, lightning can wipe out electronics really easy.
I would file a claim with your homeowner's insurance policy.
Surely they have these kinds of things in your policy.
As far as getting it fixed, first you will need to get estimates from 3 different companies for your insurance company.
I would take it to BestBuy, Fry's, Staple's, or CompUSA.
All these places have service centers, and I am sure that they have all seen lightning strike damage and insurance quotes.

I hope that you get it going again, or that you get an approved claim, as it was an act of God, not an intentional act which affected your tv.

check power supply or replaced

depending on the intensity of the lightning strike.Your tv may have blown components in the power supply section of the motherboard.
unfortunately its very very difficult to acertain level of damage unless its looked at by a trained tech/engineer

press menu and input both in together on the front of the TV and hold them both in together for 8 seconds then let me know if the LED blinks a two digit code.

you can look for the model and brand, look for it on the internet and see if you can have the schematic diagram, you're lucky if u can. Lightning will strike first the tuner side, if there is a red blink, the primary side may be okay in switching type regulator, just replacing the charred part may not solve the problem. look for shorted components on the secondary of the power section.
