JVC AV-32230 32" TV Questions & Answers
Blinking timer red light on jvc tv, no other functions
The TV is on protect mode.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
Also
ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box
or dvd connected.
If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing
led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while,
that indicates a fault condition.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.
1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
, startingthe flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults
that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a
convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.
Check also
the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you
can get same flashing state because of the video cable.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.
Jvc projection tv lamp led blinking light(red) wont turn on
These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power led, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. Viewing it in "
Mosaic" will make surf easy.

JVC TV - No Pic or Sound-Blinking Red Timer Light
No sir... Nothing short... The red blinking timer light indicates the the protect circuit has it shutdown. That's happened because something has probably shorted along the B+ line. If it were here in the shop I would be checking the following:
IC911 Str-G6624 regulator
PC921 Tlp421
F905 5a Pico Fuse
C931 160v/100uf cap
and the HOT of course 2Sc2539
One or more of these parts has probably failed but usually not all of them.. So it's not an expensive repair.
Now, while you're having that done also have them do the following modifications for greater reliability if it hasn't been done already:
Remove D701 you don't need it.
Install C705 (47uf/16v) in space provided (near Ic701 Pin 22 )
Replace jumper W122 with ferrite bead (Qqr0582-001z)
Add a cap(47uf/16v)between pins 61 and 64 of Ic701 neg to pin 64 and pos to pin 61
This is per a JVC bulletin that the shop you take it to may or may not have. It's a simple and inexpensive modification and will add a measure of reliability to the years this set has left.
As a footnote, take the set into the shop yourself and pick it up when it's done. This will help keep the cost down. All-in-all should be less than $150 if all the parts above got replaced.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
Hope this helps

JVC TV has flashing red
sometimes a leaky filter capacitor in the power supply primary section could caused this problem,or a loose solder connection in the power supply section

The TV shuts off automatically and the Timer On
sound like timer setting on . you need to go to setup menu the timer set it off, if not , you need to check power supply unit, high value capacitor if under reading replace it. good luck!
Big black box in the middle of the screen
The black box is there because your closed captioning is on and set to text mode. Some channels send the signal even when there is no actual text to display. You can get rid of it by either turning off closed captioning or changing it to CC1 or CC2 mode instead of text. If you can't find those settings, then restore factory settings as directed in your user manual.
