Hi Anonymous, as you say, your batteries have little or almost no charge capacity
That's why the charger lights remain on
Simply replace the batteries.
I hope you can solve the problem
Greetings Franco Dosil

Espor eso las luces del cargador permanecen prendidas
Simplemente, reemplaza las pilas

SOURCE: Cobra PR3850WX will not recharge batteries

There is a contact in the upper left hand corner of the batt compartment. This has to touch the metal of the last batt.If your batts have paper around them scrape it off where it contacts that contact point.

No, the charger is only usable to charge the rechargeable NiMH or Li-Ion battery which comes with the radio. Attempting to charge Alkaline rechargeable batteries with this charger could cause the to expode. If your charger is not charging the batteries which came with the units, it could be you do not have the charger cord end plugged in all the way, or the batteries dropped below the initial charge level by setting on a store shelf too long. Most TalkAbouts come with a cradle style charger to hold the radio, and a possible plug to plug into the charge hole. Check all connections, and clean any battery/charger contacts with a pencil eraser. To re-initialize the batteries you would need to attempt 3-5 charge cycles by charging for 8-10 hours, then letting the battery rest for 8-10 hours, repeating 3-5 times as needed. If this does not bring the battery back to life, you need to replace the batteries.

SOURCE: charging walkie talkies

This is more for "mshtexas" than the OP but I'm sure there may be others out there wondering the same thing. The power cord that comes with this unit has a 9.0v output at 200mA with the center pin being positive

Whats the voltage maximum on the cobra walkie talkies

Most lithium small radio batteries are 3.6 volts. If AA or AAA batteries, multiply by 1.5 volts. 4 batteries = 1.5 * 4 = 6 volts MAXIMUM. Rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts. Your charger would be a much higher voltage because it takes power to "push" the charge into a battery. You didn't say, so I am assuming you want to operate the radio with a wall charger. I've done this by soldering the wires to the battery contacts. You need a higher voltage than 3.6 volts, but milliamps is more important. You need enough milli amps to get the radio to transmit. Too much and it frys, literally. So, this is all on you to decide if the risk is worth it. I use a 5-6 volt power supply set on no more than 1 amp (800 ma is my favorite size) 1 amp = 1000 ma. Let us know if this helped!

My Cobra MircroTalk walkie-talkies aren't charging. The charge light doesn't turn on and I've made sure u turned Tue units themselves off. The model number is: GA-CQ

If your problem started after replacing the batteries (mine did), see this: http://www.walkie-talkie-radio.co.uk/replacing-cobra-walkie-talkie-rechargeable-batteries.html If that is your problem, you can also fix it by wrapping foil around the bottom of the battery that makes that touches the bottom side charging contact.

What volt charger is needed for (cobra microtalk pr560wx)? Thanks,Richard

Hi Richard,
Volt Charger??? I'm not sure what you mean, but if you mean what voltage to recharge the batteries, then you need to look at the unit, all over to find the AC input, there should be something tht states voltage and polarity there, if it infact has one.

Pease reply with more detail re: your query.

Peter
