Built in Microwave won't turn off!

I was just taking out my lunch from the microwave, and when I went to close the thing it wouldn't stop humming! Although the turntable stops turning, I kept pressing random buttons but it kept on humming for 5 minutes(and is still humming)! I can't unplug it because it is a built-in mircrowave and oven. Help!

Your machine is probably burned up by now ... but I will try to help you.

I suspect your door safety interlock switches are selded in the closed position. Remove the cover and look on the right hand side for these small switches. Unplug the device and be mindful there is 25,000 or more volts waiting to get you in the silver thing to the back side. Check the switches with a ohm meter. There is a common terminal, a normally open terminal and a normally closed terminal. My guess is one or both switches are going to read closed (short)

I have a Haier microwave and tonight after heating some food, I went to close the door and upon closing it, the carousel started turning and it won't shut off.

It sounds like one of the door switches has become defective, each must be disconnected on the one side and tested with a digital meter using the ohms scale.

Sharp Insight Pro microwave drawer KB6024MS not working

The drawer often stops working when it is abruptly stopped while opening and forced closed or vice-versa. To fix, simply do the following:
1) Push the draw all the way closed
2) Push the "Setup" button repeatedly until the "Open/Close ...?" appears.
3) Hold the Start Button until the time reappears in the display.
4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 three more times
5) Unplug the Microwave for 30 minutes.
The drawer is now reset. The drawer will now open electronically (automatically) either by pushing the open button on the panel or by pulling the drawer handle slightly.

Humming ge sapcesaver microwave

During operation, most of the built-in models have a panel that tilts out while the exhaust fan is on. When cooking is done, the exhaust fan shuts off and the panel retracts to its normal position. With the fan & microwave motor off, the hum is easier to hear. Look closely at the top panel the next time you hear the hum, and you'll probably see that it's retracting.

Kenmore 1995 Built in Microwave humming sound only when door is close

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

Switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.
