Turn off the breaker to the oven then turn it back on. The beeping will stop and the oven will continue to cool.

How do i operate the self cleaning function

Hello - Before using the self-cleaning cycle of the appliance, remove the broiler pan and any utensils stored in the appliance. Also remove any excess spillovers in the oven cavity. Allow the oven to cool before cleaning. During the self-cleaning cycle, the outside of the wall oven can become very hot to the touch.

Typically to set the controls for a self-clean the first step is to confirm that the clock shows the correct time of the day. Press CLEAN. "---" appears in the display. Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW once. "3:00" appears in the display for a 3 hour cycle. To change to a 2 hour cycle press DOWN ARROW"2:00" appears in the display. As soon as the controls are set, the motor drive lock will begin to close automatically and the "LOCK" indicator light will flash. DO NOT open the oven door while the light is flashing (it takes about 15 seconds for the over door to lock). "CLn" will appear in the display during the Self-Clean cycle and the "LOCK" light will glow until the Self-Cleaning cycle is complete or cancelled and the oven temperature has cooled.

When the Self-Clean cycle has completed, the time of the day or "End" will appear in the display window and the "Clean" and "LOCK" light will continue to glow. Once the over has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. If "End" is the display and the Clean indicator light remains ON, press CLEAR/OFF. The time of the day will appear in the display.

If it becomes necessary to stop or interrupt a Self-Cleaning cycle, press CLEAR/OFF. Once the oven has cooled down for about 1 HOUR and the "LOCK" light has gone out, the oven door can be opened. Restart the Self-Clean cycle once all conditions have been corrected.

Closed door, pushed clean button, but door lock button keeps flashing and door won't lock.

Hello there and welcome to Fixya
This is a fairly common problem with self cleaning ovens
The problem normally is that the user has interrupted the clean cycle and the door is locked by default or the door lock assy has failed all together .
Now here is the thing these ovens have a built in memory module that stores a number of commands that the user has input in it like self clean or broil ect.ect so what you will have to do is to clear the memory and it is done like this.
First unplug the oven and do not touch it leave it sit for a minimum of 1 hour this will reset the memory module
Now only after the hour is up plug in the oven and you may hear a beep ora click if so great wait a few min then you can press the cancel button then try to open the door again.

Tried to do self cleaning on oven, about 10 minutes in got "f2 locked door" and it won't clean. what is that all about?

Error code F2 on clean cycle is indicating that the maximum permissable cleaning temperature has been exceeded. (or it's got too hot!)

However it seems unlikely that that would happen in just 10 mins. more likely it is a problem with the oven temperature sensor which should be checked over as should the lock switches..

About 2 hours into the self cleaning cycle, F2 locked oven started flashing and the clear button would not stop it, even after repeated tries.

This means the oven has overheated and the controller is keeping the door locked either because it is still hot or it "thinks" it's still hot. There is a discussion of this at: fixyourboard.com/techzone/ovens/f1_error/f1_error.html
that will help you understand it.

My GE drop electric range will not turn on the self cleaning unit. I set the time and push start and it flashes clean oven, door lock, however, the door will not lock. I hear a clicking sounds, it beeps...

You will need to press the stop/cancel button, next press the self clean button, you do not have to set the time the cleaning cycle takes approx 3-1/2 to 4 hours and the cool down takes another 45 minutes to one hour, it will clean and cool down and you do not need to interrupt this cycle, it will let you know when it is complete.

GE: E Profile Single Electric Oven Model: JSP40W0WJWW

First press and hold the cancel/off button for 10 seconds.
If that does not work you have a bad thermal switch due to excessive heat buildup. Possibly a bad fan motor.
The 2 thermal switches are located on top of the oven behind the control panel.

Our GE Profile JTP18 keeps flashing "door lock" since we ran a self clean

most of the time a simple fix.... http://www.geappliances.com/search/fast/infobase/10004586.htm
you have to trick the door lock mech into cycling through the cleaning process (takes about 20 seconds)
Print Range - “LOCKED DOOR” flashes in the display

If “LOCKED DOOR” is flashing in the display of your range or oven, and the self-clean cycle has not been selected, follow the steps below to reset your control:

Motorized Switch
    1. With the door open, locate the door jamb switch on the face of the oven. It will look like a small black post or dowel.
    2. Push it in until the oven cavity light goes off, indicating that the oven believes the door is closed.
    3. While you hold the door jamb switch in this position, complete the following steps.
    4. Press the Clean pad, wait 10 seconds.
    5. When the cycle initiates, press the clear/off or cancel pad immediately to cancel it.
    6. Wait 10 seconds for the display to clear.
    7. The door should unlock and there should not be a need for service.
Manual Switch
    1. Press the Clean pad.
    2. Close the door.
    3. Slide the latch to lock the door.
    4. Hit the cancel button immediately.
    5. Unlock the door.
If the above does not correct the situation, a service technician will need to check your cooking product. To obtain in or out of warranty repair on Major Appliances, you may call 1-800-GE-CARES (800-432-2737) or schedule service online.
