I have had my camera for 2-3 years now and it has the same problem of changing settings on its own. Also it will stop recording movies at random intervals. Since I think the warranty period is over I have not called Kodak. I wonder if the camera has a reset button? I've done the software reset to factory default in the menu screen but that did not help.

To change to raw - push menu, then settings - image quality - select Raw - push ok. You're done. Raw ignores many of the other image settings, such as WB, Picture mode (Vivid, etc..); It does however pay attention to exposure compensation.
Please remove the Battery from the Camera then press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Next, reinsert the battery pack and turn ON the Camera. You may also try resetting the Camera to the original factory settings by follow the steps given below: Press Home button on the Camera to display home screen. Select Settings with left/right arrow on the control button. Next, select the Main Settings 1 then Initialize and OK.
Performing the above steps will reset the Camera to the original factory settings.
If the issue persists even after performing all the above steps then service will be required.
If the camera is in Auto mode those items cannot be selected because the camera is already using factory default settings and they cannot be changed, If you press the Ok button and change to P mode then you will be able to access all of those menu settings and make any changes you wish to the camera settings.
It does different things depending on the camera settings and only works in the creative zone settings not the automatic settings.
In AV mode it changes the aperture
In Tv Mode it changes the shutter speed
In M mode it changes the shutter speed unless the AV button is pressed when it then changes the aperture
To change the color settings, you must first change from "auto" to "manual". Turn camera on, press "function". Use the navigation dial to go to the right one step to "camera M". You can now scroll down to the "my colors" icon & make your changes.
Good Day, LCD display is defective, pls contact nearest service center, no longer user serviceable, still u can use it using optical viewfinder, but you can no longer change settings, cause infos are displayed on the LCD screen. Thanks
I'm not familiar with this particular model but I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem making changes to the settings while the camera is on. In fact, I'm not sure how you would accomplish a change or have the camera switch the setting unless the camera is on.
Yes. The camera holds current settings including any changes you have made while turning off the power. If you prefer the original settings you can use the RESET function to reset to the factory default settings.
