SOURCE: tv has got stuck on standby mode

If the TV goes off completely, then is usually a faulty power board.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

On LCD Pay particular attention at inverter and power board, power board can be inspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with a multimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need to read voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.

SOURCE: DVDR3570h is stuck in standby, cannot turn on

I had this problem, it was solved by reformatting the hard-drive.

NOTE: if you do this, all settings and all that is saved on the harddrive is lost. But seeing that you can't start it anyway, that is acceptable, right? :)

Anyway, here's how you do it, according to Philips support:

  1. Pull out the power cord from the socket.
  2. Press and hold PREV and STOP (i.e. left and down) on the front panel.
  3. Plug the power cord into the socket again.
  4. Wait until the front panel says "FMT KEY" to let go of the buttons. Wait for it to finish formatting, upon which you will get "-- --" on the panel.
Restart the box and you should now end up at a screen asking you to set the language for the box, as if being started for the first time ever.

Also of note: if you want to restore the firmware to factory settings, Philips support told me to pull the cord, press and hold the STANDBY button, and plug it back in again. For the looping problem though, I didn't need that.

Sanyo amp stuck in standby mode can I pull it out this mode

When in the standby mode the 3 or 5 volt standby voltage is present for the main cpu IC to "wake up" the power supply, and put it to work, this is a signal that is introduced to the power supply when the on button is pressed, or a command from the remote, also if some components are defective and drawing to much current it won't come out of standby as well, this will require some electrical engineering skills to troubleshoot the amp, I suggest you take it somewhere to have it serviced unless you have the knowledge and test gear to fix it yourself.

Stuck in standby

You can reset all to factory settings, which may help; unplug power, put back in switch on with power button. Then press together "tape", "CD" and the power button. You may need to reset the clock before it will work. If you need the manual, here is the link; http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2048589112.pdf check page 26 for the reset if not clear - nothing else in there that seems to be related, but you may find something i missed. Hope this helps :)

Tdk cd player stereo system stuck on standby. the red standby light is on the only thing I have done since it was last working yester day is remove and reinsert the speakers from the unit.

Try resetting by leaving disconnected completely from the mains for 2mins. Throughout this time frame keep your finger pressed on the power/standby button.

Stuck on Standby

Do a hard reset. Unplug it from the socket, the DVD and leave disconnected for 4 hours. This may or may not help, but it is a necessary step to restore all internal software codes to their factory settings.

Hope this may help;

M&S Systems MCD-6 6 Disc CD Changer display of "err 01" message

I do not know these units but I have worked on multiplay and many devices, the main reasons I found is either lubrication and or drive belts.

Over time belts stretch from decay as they age also silicon based grease I have found becomes divided between a liquid and paste with the liquid part making a puddle on a units lower area.
This causes things not to operat within a suitable time due to friction or lack of power from those belts which result in error numbers.

A good service is the only answer with a good service engineer who I am sure will enjoy cleaning out the residue slime, clean parts and relubricate. Sarcastic of me maybe but it was to make you aware that it may be costly due to time involved.

Hope this helps.....
