You may have by mistake deleted it, or it has gone corrupted.

There are multiple ways of recovering data, but only if your OS detects the plugged in device as a drive (ie like a flash/USB drive) - but recovery is NEVER guaranteed

If you know which drive letter it is assigned to, and if you know in which audio format it is, the there are FREE software you can use:

Recuva = LINK
PC Inspector = LINK

Read the documentation on how to use it on both programs "Help" section, as they have completely different user interfaces.

When the tone arm returns to its base it should contact a small micro switch which turns off the motor. Going underneath the platter you should find the switch, either bent out of place or broken.

You most likely are not meeting the specs required by the player. Check the manual on the cd for the specs the player can resolve or use the converter on the cd to convert your mp4's wmv to meet the specs.
