    My entire Macrotel Mt-16 phone system went down and lost all the programming. I need to set up the system to tone or pulse dial and don't know how. I also need to set up a different ringing to separate phones.

    I got the month, time functioning. I am in need of changing the system program from pulse dialing to tone dialing. That is the real problem.

The Macrotel Excel, Macrotel MT-16 and the Prostar 816 are all very similar in programming. The following information should work on all 3 KSU's of any revision or software level.

To Enter programming: Must be done before any programming
Depress # (Programming)
Dial 20 (MMC Disabled)
Enter Password [Default is 1234] {or it may be 4321}
Dial 1 to enter programming mode. Programming mode will turn off automatically after a few minutes of non-use.
Dial # again

Then

To change Time and Date:
Depress
# (Programming)
Dial 55 (YY MM DD W HH MM)
Input new data:
YY= year
MM= month
DD= day
W= weekday [0=Sun 1=Mon 2=Tue 3=Wed 4=Thu 5=Fri 6=Sat]
HH= hour (24 hour mode)
MM= minute
All data must be entered each time or changes will not be saved.

Ok I asked the question three days ago why can I get on a free wifi connection with my phone but not my tablet

The free Wi Fi router may have run out of IP leases on its DHCP server just when you were trying to connect the tablet. If the leases are as an example say one week long then if lots of people connect to the free wi fi they get a lease for one week. So if the device comes back within the week it already has an IP address assigned to it and works. If a new device comes along it has to ask the DHCP server via the WI FI to assign it an IP address. If all available IP addresses are leased from the WI FI router the device will not get assigned an ip address. Would suggest trying to connect the Tablet on another Wi FI system to test it works.
I had this happen on my mobile phone when I was in Surfers Paradise in a Coffee shop and suspected the lease time on the WI FI router was too long for the amount of short term customers using the coffee shop. (the staff had no idea on why the Wi FI was not working so it would have been pointless to try and explain this concept to them and how to change the lease time on the dhcp server) Also there is a limit to the simultaneous number of users on a Wi Fi frequency on one access point . Unless the WI FI uses multiple WI FI access points.

Change ip address

How To Change Your IP Address

How do I change my IP? There are MANY methods to change your IP. Some methods will work for you but may not work for someone else and vice versa.

If your IP is static, then you CAN’T change it without contacting your ISP.
If you have a long lease time (explained in this article) on your IP then you won’t be able to change your IP without cloning your MAC address, which I’ll explain later in this article.
It definitely helps if you know how the IP is being assigned to you.
You can read our DHCP definition to get a better understanding.
What is an IP lease time? IP lease time is the amount of time your ISP determines you’ll be assigned a particular IP. Some IP lease times are just a few days and other IP lease times could be set for a year or more. This setting is completely up to your ISP.
One of the easier methods to change your IP is to turn off your modem/router/computer overnight. Then turn it back on the following morning. This method WILL NOT work if your ISP has a long lease time set for your IP.
The following method will ONLY work if your computer is being assigned your external IP and not a router.
How to determine if your computer is being assigned the external IP
If your connection is direct to your computer and your computer gets the public IP and not a router, you can try this:
For Windows 2000, XP, and 2003
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. Type in cmd and hit ok (this opens a Command Prompt)
4. Type ipconfig /release and hit enter
5. Click Start, Control Panel, and open Network Connections
6. Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties
7. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
8. Click on Use the following IP address
9. Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123
10. Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
11. Hit OK twice
12. Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
13. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
14. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
15. Hit OK twice
16. Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address

For Vista
1. Click Start
2. Click All Programs expand the Accessories menu
3. In the Accessories menu, Right Click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator
4. Type ipconfig /release and hit enter
5. Click Start, Control Panel, and open Network and Sharing Center. Depending on your view, you may have to click Network and Internet before you see the Network and Sharing Center icon
6. From the Tasks menu on the left, choose Manage Network Connections
7. Find and Right click on the active Local Area Connection and choose Properties (If you’re hit with a UAC prompt, choose Continue)
8. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
9. Click on Use the following IP address
10. Enter a false IP like 123.123.123.123
11. Press Tab and the Subnet Mask section will populate with default numbers
12. Hit OK twice
13. Right click the active Local Area Connection again and choose Properties
14. Double-click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
15. Choose Obtain an IP address automatically
16. Hit OK twice
17. Go to What Is My IP to see if you have a new IP address

Some people have inquired about manually assigning their IP address. This IS possible, but you run a very high risk of your ISP banning you from connecting to the internet. To manually change your IP, follow the steps above for your Operating System. In step 9 or 10, depending on your O/S, enter an IP similar to the one displayed in the command prompt window. For example, if the IP displayed in the command prompt window is 75.1.2.3, change yours to 75.1.2.4. You’ll also need to manually enter the Subnet, Gateway and DNS Server IP addresses as well. If the new IP you give your computer doesn’t work, chances are someone else on the ISP network has already been assigned that IP. You’ll need to move on to the next one and keep trying until you find an open one. However, some ISPs match up your MAC or modem data to the IP that’s been assigned. If those 2 things don’t match up, you won’t be able to connect no matter what. If your router gets the IP and not your computer, you’ll need to http in to your routers interface and manually assign the IP there. It’s pretty much the same method as assigning the IP to your computer. The method that varies is in how you reach your routers interface. You can get the instructions from your manufacturer’s website.

There is no way on the router to set the DHCP lease time.

Old Lease rules still apply right?

No, you're still "under" the old lease. There should be language about what happens after lease expires. Typically it's month to month, with 30 day notice on either side to vacate premises.

If they're looking to raise the rent, or ask you to pay additional expenses et al, then they need you to sign a new lease.

It sounds like they want you to pay a higher rent, but still reserve the right to kick you out as you're month-to-month.

You should check with a lawyer, but my inclination would be pay the old rent until they're willing to talk to you about a new lease.

Steps to change lease time on a linksys E2100LWhat's your problem?

May I ask why you care about the lease time? All this does is indicate how long a computer holds an IP address via DHCP. If the computer is still connected it will merely renew an expired lease. One of the only situations you would care about the lease is if it were in a public location. In almost all situations default lease time is adequate

My belkin 54g wifi router is making a new DHCP request to my isp every 4 minute or so - the lease time is set to "1200"

the lease time should be forever..... even after changing the lease time if you have the same issue, try updating the firmware of your router.... you can download the latest firmware for your router from the link below....

I leased a computer from Gateway in 2004 and the lease is up. How do I found out about returning the machine OR buying it outright? I have phoned at least 15 times to find out. No one can hook me up...

Try going through the support section of Gateways website. If you can get someone through that they should be able to tell you the procedure for lease termination.

After four years on lease I think you probably MORE than paid for the system already. If you still can't get ahold of anyone through support, I'm sure once lease payments stop coming in, they'll contact YOU. At that time you can find out the information you seek.

Hope this helps
