This is different on every stereo, but generally the RCA ports in the back of the stereo are labeled "Aux" or something to that extent.

First, you must purchase a headphone jack to RCA cable which can connect to both your stereo and your ipod.

Connect the cable, turn your ipod on and start playing a song. Turn the volume on the stereo to a moderate volume so you can hear when the song is being played through your stereo. Then, using the selector switch, turn the stereo from "Radio" to "Aux" or whatever it says next to the the RCA plug ins on the back.

You can only do that if the rca jacks say aux. The rca's are usually for an amplifier

IPOD hook up to receiver

The problem is the phono hookup, which is not a standard line-level input. Phono is only appropriate for a turntable (record player)

Plug the ipod into any other input, and you'll be all set.

If this helps, be sure to hit the "thumbs up" for me!

How can I hook up my ipod without the ipod docking

use your headphone jack, you will need an adapter cable that converts the signal to left / right male RCA jacks. (available at radio shack or on ebay)

these can plug into any red / white inputs EXCEPT phono I use the input labeled CD for my blackberry to listen to MP3's and stream music from Pandora.com

I have a audio/video multi-channel receiver VSX-D810S digital processor, probably about 7 years old. How do I hook up my ipod to play music out speakers in my home, same as cd's?

Check Radio Shack, thay make an adaptor with a white and red audio plug that can connect to an input on the receiver (AUX) the other end goes into the headphone jack on the iPOD.

IPOD ADAPTOR

you have to buy the ipod connection kit to pioneer, but if your deck have RCA input at the back..all you need is Y cable 2 (RCA male - 35mm jack)

RCA will be connected to DECK, 35 mm jack to your ipod.

to use your ipod...change the input setting on your deck to AUX (auxillary) most deck have this for CD Changer connection

Ipod!!

Are you trying to hookup thru USB? Unless its ipod compatible it wont work (and its not). Your only choice is to buy an RCA to mini headphone cable and play it thru the input of your choice.
