I need the setup CD for a Motorola SBG900 Router.

I recently moved and lost the setup CD for my Motorola SBG900 Router. Do you know where I can find a replacement? I went to http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/support/default.asp?supportSection=CableModems but couldn't find the software to download. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't log into 192.168.0.1

The article I read suggested 192.168.100.1

admin (no capitals)
motorola (no capitals)

And no need to get your breathing rates high in case you have changed the username/ password of Motorola SBG900 and forgot them, as you can just reset the Motorola SBG900 router by press-and-hold the reset button with a straightened paperclip for about 15 seconds.

Set up wireless security

1 On a computer wired to the SBG900 USB or Ethernet port, open your web
browser (for example, Microsoft Internet Explorer)
2 Type http//:192.168.100.1 and press ENTER to display the login window:
3 In the User ID field, type admin (case sensitive) and press TAB.
4 In the Password field, type motorola (case sensitive) and click Log In to
display the SBG900 Setup Program main window:
As soon as your network is operational, run the SBG900 Setup Program to:

"Wireless Network Setup"
For a LAN with one or more wireless clients, enable wireless security on the SBG900.

"Wireless Network Setup"
After enabling wireless security on the SBG900, as required on each wireless client:
> If you disabled ESSID broadcasting on the SBG900, set the client Network
Name (ESSID) identical to the ESSID on the SBG900.
> If you enabled WEP on the SBG900, set the client WEP key identical to the
WEP key on the SBG900.
> If you enabled Allow Only Listed Stations Access, be sure the MAC
address for each client is correctly listed on the SBG900.

Is there any computer connected to the router?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router and the access the router setup and you will find the password there if you don't know the password to access the router then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router.

Need to change the security of my SBG 900 wireless router

Plug your router in with an ethernet connection and type 192.168.100.1 into your browser address bar. This should load the modem login screen. Unless you have changed the username / password they are admin / motorola. From here you can click on wireless and configure the SSID and security setup.

Motorola SBG900-SiS191 Ethernet Controller

Setup your IP addresses correctly by checking available IP addies in router.

You will have to know your router addie and your available wireless addies (in router). For this you need to enter router configuration (read manual).

Open network properties, tcp/ip properties, check "use following ip addie and enter something like 192.168.1.5 depending on what your router is setup as available.

Enter same subnet as your router.

Enter DNS server addies from you ISP.

Password for setup program lost /WEP-key??

If by set-up program you mean 192.168.0.1, then the default password is "motorola" and username is "admin" from there you should be able to see everything you need. If you changed it from the defaults, then you might have to reset the SBG900 to factory defaults by pushing and holding the small reset button on the SBG900.

I never had to run any "setup program" to get mine working, just plug and play. If you did need to install additional software then you might have problems that I am unaware of. Hope I was able to help.
