It could be an obstruction in the unit or it is not winding the tape onto the spools due to a broken or slipping belt(s). It could also be that the optical sensors, (that tell you there is a tape in the machine), are not operating. Some units also have an humidity checker. Leave the set turned on for a while and try it once it has warmed up a bit. It this doesn't work then dismantling is the only way to repair. Sorry
SOURCE: vcr is ejected all the time
Besides the solutions techman listed there could be a problem with the tape as well. If you dont see anything inside the machine when you peek threw the door you might want to pop the cover off. Insect the tapes also or the tape your trying to play. If you hold the tape in both hands lable up there is a little pin on the right side of the lever if you push this pin it will rotate the door on the tape you can inspect the tape in the cassette. Sometimes machines will rewind the tape to far and it will reach the leader wich is clear and this tells the machine that it is at the begining or the end. Sometimes the tape will break. Is the machine near a window? there are light sensors inside the machine also and will sometimes kick the tape out if it gets to much light on the sensors. Try a fresh brand new tape first thing then check the inside for debris.

The link tells you about the first player. It says that this player is really picky with discs but people have had success with 4x vertabrim DVD-R discs. The link also has some information on a firmware upgrade to improve the DVD-R/RW selection of discs which the player accepts. Coudn't find much on the second player though other than a french manual which told me what it accepts which i've put above. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Tape keeps getting ejected
This unit requires the rubber parts to be replaced. The loading sequence is not completing properly. The VCR will eject the tape when the sequence fails as a safety measure to prevent damage to either the VCR or the tape.
Parts cost for this should not be more than $10.
