Clean air filter, change plug. Then clean out gas that has gummed-up the needl valve and add some gum out.

SOURCE: ryobi backpack leaf blower about three years hard to start

Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check cylinder compression

Fuel starvation - 'lean fuel' condition
Basic things to check:
1) spark plug
2) spark arrestor in muffler
3) fuel lines and tank filter
4) turn adjustment needles out (counterclockwise) 1/4 to 1/2 turn
Chain Saws:
5) check impulse tube and intake boot for cracks or leaks
*if all of the above are OK and/or do not improve performance then:
Remove Carburetor
6) replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

I HAVE RYOBI 09440 4 CYCLE BLOWER STALLS WHEN GIVING GAS

get the carb serviced. Could be fuel overflow. small engine carbs are very finicky if left sitting for too long with fuel remaining in the carb.

MY RYOBI GAS BLOWER AND VAC IS HARD TO START. IT IS NEVER BEEN USED SINCE I PURCHASED IT FROM HOME DEPOT. I HAVE ONLY BEEN ABLE TO GET IT STARTED TWICE AS A TEST START BEFORE USING IT. WHATS THE PRO

Without seeing in my shop it will hard to tell exactly what is going on. I have ran into a couple starting problems with Ryobi blowers. They carburetor were either being over choked or not enough choke. Both were Ruixing carburetors. Something you can try to find out if it is the carburetor into add a little fuel mix directly into cylinder through the spark plug hole.

Depending on how long you have had it, it may still be covered by the warranty and I would check into that if I was you.

My ryobi 4 cycle leaf blower will not run over approximately 8/10 minutes and then will not restart for possibly a day or so.what can be done"

you have 1 of 2 possible problems. First is the ignition module is getting hot and killing the machine. It runs while cold but once it warms up it dies then it should restart after it cools back down. The other issue could be the needle in the carburetor is allowing more gas through than the machine can burn so it dies due to flooding. Letting it sit for a day or so allows the fuel to dissipate and allows the unit to restart

Ran last year, won't start this year. Changed fuel and replaced spark plug. Checked spark and attempted to start with battery and tried with pull cord but no start. pulled plug and it had fuel on it so...

It might have tipped over on its side. Look at the air filter, if you see oil or gas on the filter then you might have to remove and clean the carburetor. I would start by cleaning/replacing the air filter and trying it again. If its getting fuel and the spark plug works then the only other side of the fire triangle is air.

What is the gas oil ratio of the ryobi leaf blower

Most Ryobi products made in the past 5 years use a 50:1 fuel mix. Check the fuel cap to see if it is listed there. The older Ryobi product used a 32: 1 fuel mix ratio and it was usually listed on the sticker that shows you how to work the choke. If in doubt, go with the 32:1 ratio. The only thing it will cause is premature fouling of the spark plug. Too little oil in the mix will cause premature engine wear.

50:1 is 2.6 ounces of 2 cycle mix to each gallon (U.S.) of gasoline.
32:1 is 4.0 ounces of 2 cycle mix per gallon.

I recommend to use a 2 cycle mix that is specifically designed for lawn equipment and contains fuel stabilizer. The ones with stabilizer will usually be .5 ounces larger.

Good luck!

Ryobi RY08576 25.4cc was started without mixed fuel

If the engine is sticky ie harder to pull it might have to be pulled apart new piston and honing of cylinder. not difficult just a pain. If it doesn't seem any harder to pull, Drain all of the unmixed fuel. Put a few drops of 2cylinder oil in the spark plug hole and pull the starter a few times with the plug out of it. Put a few more drops in repeat. Replace the plug (new plug) Put in mixed fuel prime the system cross your fingers and it should start up for you.

Someone ran gas instead of 2-cycle in leaf-blower; now locked up

It's probably dead. If the rope won't pull buy another and keep it for parts, the repair bill will be more than it costs. Spray some wd- 40 in the spark plug hole and let it sit for a couple days, IF it frees up you got lucky but don't expect it.
