I have a ONKYO TX-DS575 receiver. I bought it a long time ago. Sometimes the sound from the center speaker sounds low noise and noise. After a while, it sounds normal. Does changing audio output capacitors solve the problem? What are all these capacitors? Also, can I use a WD40 for a rotary encoder? Is it enough?
“Sometimes the sound from the center speaker sounds low noise and noise. After a while, it sounds normal.”
Maybe relay problem or amplification. How to fix:
(1)relay download TX-DS 575 service manual. Locate speaker relays exchange the front left speaker relay with the CENTER ONE. If sound comes out from front left speakers normally, but noise sound comes from one of the Front left speakers. The defective component is front speaker relay. Replace the relay will get it fixed.
(2)amp: voltage amp.
(a)replace ALL caps at this channel to see if problem gets fixed.
(b)If not, replace ALL small power transistors and its resistor (for resistors, measure them on board. For those with larger different from the stated value in service manual, take it out from board to measure.)(c)ALL zener diode & diode should be replaced. No need to check power amp (current amp.)
(I)Does changing audio output capacitors solve the problem? Perhaps.
(II)What are all these capacitors? See above.
(III)Also, can I use a WD40 for a rotary encoder? NO, definitely NO. rotary encoder problem Will affect ALL channels NOT a single one.

No, wd40, "please" first try checking the solder connections, 9 times out of 10 it's bad solder connections. Not every issue with older Electronics is Cap related!!! Onkyo is super easy to repair like I mentioned earlier, check the solder connections first, also check the ribbons, unplug the clean the contacts with DeOxit5, if you still need help, don't hesitate to contact me, good luck!!!

It sounds like your system has gone into protect mode which means you probably have some DC voltages in your output circuit area that have triggered the protect circuit. This mostly happens when you have some damaged output transistors or when they are getting some incorrect voltages themselves. When it goes into protect because of ONE bad channel then it will disconnect ALL output channels from their speakers. There are a number of things that can cause the "no sound all channels" problem, but the most common is what I have just said. I hope this helps. (I am of course assuming that the unit will actualy turn on and that speakers are attached etc., etc.) Good luck.
SOURCE: Left rear speaker noise
The internal amp for the left rear speaker has a faulty transistor or IC chip this would need to be replaced.

You have a problem that was inherent with all Onkyo receivers from this period. You need to contact Onkyo because the microprocessor needs to be replaced. Last I checked, its about $80 from onkyo.
This is NOT an isolated incident as darn near every Onkyo receiver model had this problem.
Good luck...
