I have an old pc game on disk, it's Ariel's Story Studio, and I found it not long ago and wanted to play it again for nostalgia reasons. However, now matter what I do the game will not work.

I've tried: Changing the properties to work on the windows I have, but my is not an option to pick to make the game compatible. (I have windows 10) Using the troubleshooting compatibility and when it ask what version did it work on before...again Windows 3.1 is not an option to pick, and let them know that is the one it worked on. I ever updated to the newest windows 10 to see if that could help in anyway. Despite all that every time I go to hit play a box comes up and.... says at the top: Unsupported 16-bit Application. And it tells me that it will not run because of: Incompatibility with 64-bit version of windows and I need to find one that is. What do I do?

SOURCE: unsupported 16-bit application

You could try to run in compatibility mode by right clicking the program executable file and choosing properties, once that comes up look for a tab that says compatibility.

You may have to try different settings to get it to work. Win95 or 98 mode should. The display settings may help as well.

SOURCE: I have Windows 7. Wanted to install Trophy Bass 2

unfortunately no, windows 64 bit doesn't support 32 bit or 16 bit applications so you should call the support number or go online to return the unsupported edition for a 64 bit edition (if they have one). Hope this helps.

How can I stop my HP laptop from making these low, growling noises whenever I watch videos for a prolonged time?

no computer stated, just LT. no OS stated, XP to W10.
there are like 33 years of LT. now. vast HP laptops. made.
2yo old can be, you bought it new, or is new to you but real old
only the model number puts age to it. (for sure)

slow PC, are they not all slow? (some say so,)
"when I watch videos or play games."
what video's DVD, saved MP4s, live streaming videos off the internet, like netfix. or what games, PC solitaire or $60 steam games
or a on line streaming game as seen on STEAM. (free)
we cant guess any of that nor what is BOTTLENECKED.

lets say you said , I have tiny game in my pc that is slow
why? (clear no? lets even name it, Duke Nukem retro)
top reasons.
my guess the growling is inside the headphones and not the HDD crashing. (bad) if PC is new and SSD now's that time to say it
or full pc model.#

1: pc is slow, it was cheap and slow,.(upgrade time) gamers, nightmare...endless.....
2: pc is infected, as most are. reload windows (is it windoz?)(
3: pc has failing HDD.
4: PC is overheating.
5: worse there is always worse. (pretend long story here, endless)

I have a Windows 7 laptop, and I just bought Carnivores: Ice Age for some nostalgia. But now, after I have bought it and installed it, it will not run. I've gotten no error message describing the problem....

Hello VincentS,

Right ... Nostalgia (I had forgotten my solitaire games...
I used to let my hands do speed runs when trapped on
CONFERENCE CALLS)... I STILL HAVE my OLD system...
so running (old ) games (et al) is NOT AN ISSUE.

IF
you have an old Windows 98 system... run it there
(
Pentium, see below for requirements)

There are basic system requirements...
Carnivores Ice Age Specs

(I am an old "systems" guy so I try to stick to the
BASICS with PCs. (still running 98 and XP... ) only now skipping everything and jumping to Windows10

ELSE
To move it forward you must run windows 98
compatibility mode...
I had to look on the internet.. and found you a pretty good discussion (circa 2009). http://z3.invisionfree.com/The_Carnivores_Saga/ar/t766.htm

Interesting...
You just made me remember to check my coolant level before I fire up my OVERCLOCKED 98 system...
Thanks...!!
that could have been painful... (fried Celeron - Yum)

Hope it helps!

First of all search and delete every single file and folder that is related to it - to be sure you're doing it  thoroughly open every single folder on the pc and search it.
Next you must run a god registry cleaner like
http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm
and reboot.
Finally run the system cleaner like CCleaner and reboot again.
