My Pioneer DVR 550HX is stuck in update mode. Help please.

There is no way to transfer HD to a regular DVD with out a conveter that usually plugs in the back of your DVR. Hope this helps =)

updated firmware will not help. this is a known issue with Pioneer DVR-112D, drive needs to be replaced. The issue occurs only under limited environmental and use conditions that are not typical for most end users, so Pioneer anticipates that most users will not be affected. Hi,

The Pioneer DVR systems use a linux based drive format, as such you will need to download and install a linux file system driver into your computer to access the files.

Go to:

http://www.fs-driver.org/download.html

download and install the driver file and you should be able to read the drive. If you're still having problems feel free to post back here and I will continue to assist you,

Change the IDE cable to a full UIDE cable and make sure you also have the latest motherboard chipset drivers for your model board.

They can usually be had from the boards website in the support section.
