Have a Black & Decker GL585 strimmer but the whole spool assembly came off drive spindle. I can push it back on but within a few seconds it comes off again. Can it be fixed? if so how

Go to Homebase, B&Q, Ebay or your local hardware shop and buy a new spool, ALM part number BD032.

Do you mean that the string keeps feeding as you try to operate the trimmer?

If so, you are winding the string on the spool the wrong way. Put the string on the spool in a clockwise direction. This should do it.

the eyelets on the trimmer head may be worn and cutting the line ..look for groves in the eyeleys may need to replace the spool
