The exact mix ratio for Cub Cadet trimmers varies, depending upon the exact model. Cub Cadet's ST 228 2-cycle trimmer model uses a mix of 2.6 fluid ounces of 2-cycle oil blended with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline or a 50-to-1 ratio. This equates to 20 milliliters of 2-cycle oil to 1 liter of gas. The Cub Cadet BC 210, on the other hand, requires a mix ratio of 40 to 1, or 3.2 fluid ounces of 2-cycle engine oil to 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline

SOURCE: transmission oil ? for cub cadet tractor

Hi, Cissy, Every Cub Cadet is different, and they keep their manuals to themselves. With your exact model and serial number, you can go to their website and view the manual for your model which should have the type of oil you need. Their website is www.cubcadet.com and go to service. If you have trouble, let me know, but I will need the model and serial. Good Luck, this should Fixya!

SOURCE: HOW TO GET BRUSH CUTTER OFF FS 55

Look at the top of the head (where the brush cutter is) find the small hole about 3/16 diameter. Insert an allen wrench or a large nail, or anything else that will fit in the hole almost the same size as the hole. While putting a little downward pressure on this "tool" turn you blade slowly by hand until you feel the tool slide into the locking slot, this will hold the blade from turning. Keeping it in this position, take a socket and ratchet on the nut that is holding the blade and loosen and remove it. THE NUT HAS LEFT HAND THREADS SO TURN IT OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU NORMALLY WOULD TO REMOVE IT!!!!

Cub cadet chipper shredder starter coil is locked - will not pull

Recoil starter is locked?

Remove spark plug to be sure engine hasn't hydrolocked with fuel and/or check crankcase oil level. If excessively high oil level then likely crankcase and cylinder is full of fuel from a stuck carburetor fuel inlet needle valve.

If cylinder is clear of fuel/oil then remove recoil starter and see if recoil is functional and engine will rotate by hand.

Cub cadet 1046 kohler courage lawn tractor cranks but does not start

An internal combustion engine needs three (3) things to run..(assuming all internal parts are good)..

1. A properly timed spark
2. Adequate compression >120psi
3. Proper fuel/air ratio

one of these three (or more) is missing...eliminate them one at a time..(this is the way a professional diagnoses a starting issue)
