SOURCE: What do you replace to

Hello

Open the door. There are two essential components here: the latch itself, and the striker plate. The latch is the thing that's connected to the doorknob, and the striker plate is the metal part in the door jamb.

If the door isn't latching properly, then the latch isn't properly lined up with the striker plate. You must now determine how they are misaligned. Crouch down and slowly close the door, looking at the latch. Is the latch too high or too low? If not, then it's likely not lining up left-right.

Once you've determined how the latch is misaligned, simply use the metal file and file down the hole in the striker plate until the door successfully latches. You may need to use the chisel to remove some wood from the hole, as well. Keep trying to close the door until it repeatedly latches properly.

If it's very misaligned, it may be better to reinstall the striker plate. Simply unscrew the screws to remove the plate, and then re-install the plate where it needs to be.

Why does my Blodgett conv oven not turning on when I close the door?

Check the door switch to see if it is making contact. It is located inside the front cover on right hand side, next to the chain sprocket.

What are the possible sources of the following problem? Our convection oven works fine when it's turned on in the morning. However, when you open the doors for too long, the fan needs a manual push

The oven is designed to turn off the fan if the door is left open too long. I think it is a protection to avoid injury to the user due to heat circulation. It might be best to turn down the heat setting when opening the oven for long periods whilst the cooking is on. If you want the manual it can be downloaded from this site. see page 23.

Large yellow flame, not cooking food thoroughly

I think ill give it a try for you. The gas lines come in thru you cutoff valve then thru you gas valve and on to the burner. right before the burner you will see a bell shape fitting. The gas line is in the center of the fitting and there will be some opening around this fitting That fitting has dust clogging it up. This is where the gas mixes with the air Turn your oven off and blow this fitting out.

Oven probs

I think you are having a problem with a high limit switch that has become faulty. If you are running this around 400 degrees F. These things fail over time and since you said its a blodgett deck oven I assume it has to be over 10 years old. If you need further help please comment me back.

Hope this helps ya
