SOURCE: I want to connect a keyboard to the Fender Passport 500watt

Plug your keyboard into a line input. Run a cable from the stereo out put jack into a separate amplifier with a speaker e.g. a self contained powered monitor.

SOURCE: i can only hear one

Are you using a STEREO input cable? Is the source of the audio stereo? The stereo cable will have three connections on the plug... the sleeve, the ring and the tip.

If you only have mono source or using a mono cable you will only get sound in the left headset. Pulling the plug part way out will sometimes contact both connection so you will hear both.

If your source is mon, you will need a special cable that connects the mono signal to both sides of the input plug, that is the ring AND the tip.

Testimonial: "thanks! i think it could be the cable connected into the stereo in, it only has one black ring! thank you! "

Fender Passport pro 500 - speaker static temporary, then goes away. Usually occurs shortly after turning system on.

If this system is still under warranty get it to a warranty service center. This is an early stage symptom of failure with the Power Amp IC. Fender has a good warranty policy on this stuff - 1 to 3 years

If not under warranty you may want to wait until it the problem is more persistent - easier for a tech to fix - unless it IS every time right now. A good tech can identify the issue quickly once "on the bench". My 'gut' feeling is the Power Amp IC when the system is first energizing to full stable power.

One of my Fender Passport 500 speakers has started to crackle sometimes, particularly when the song has a lot of base. What could be causing this? Would a regulator help?

You have probably blown the speaker... swap left and right to verify it is the speaker... These speakers are NOT too well suited for bass... They typically have low impedance speakers in series. You run a risk of popping the amp running with a blown speaker. You MAY have to replace all the speakers in the defective cabinet. ALL the speakers must be identical. The Passport 250 uses four 2 ohm speakers in series... not sure about the 500. It may have two 8 ohm in parallel. Do not use the speaker until it is fixed... the amps are hard to repair if a defective speaker cooks them.

Could a bad cable connection make a fuse blow in my fender passport 250, or cuase any problemmwith ouput from my speakers...?

A shorted speaker cable could cause this... however, what you do is to replace the fuse BUT wire a 150 Watt lamp in series with the power input... This acts as a resetable fuse for testing. If the lamp stays lit, you still have a failure.

Fender passport 150 pro- Bought to uses for "Bike Nights" Plaing cd palyer in small retail parking lots. Volume is too low, when ever I try to put input level beyond halfway,,, I get...

You are in danger of popping the amp. The Fender passport 150 would be capable of covering about only a 20 foot by 20 foot area. If your area is bigger than that, you need more power and certainly bigger speakers. I would NOT recommend the larger Passport systems as the speakers are too directive for what sounds like your use... also there are reliability issues.

Hi, I would to say thanks a lots to let put some words on yours email box. It's just regarding about how to set up a live band gigs @ outdoor stage in to mixer system. In a mixer setting, i wana know how...

You will need at least a 24 channel mixer to give you spare channels. You also need an active crossover and a snake. The advice you need is too much to include here so I am including some links:http://mixonline.com/live/FixIts/, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_sound_mixing, http://mixinglivesound.com/blog/tag/outdoor-concerts/,http://mixinglivesound.com/blog/, and http://www.scribd.com/doc/11435651/Beginners-Guide-to-Mixing-Sound. You may need more monitors than you are planning on and you might consider in ear monitoring.

MY Fender Passport P250 went into protect mode. I changed the FUSE at the power supply with a new fuse. Still it is in Protect mode. How to fix this

This needs to go to the repair shop. The protect mode is turned on when either the power supply has a problem or one or both power amplifiers have a problem. These are often blown components.

These units are HARD to work on. To open you have to first remove then front panel before you can remove the back panel that has the power supply and power amps/heat sinks.

Compare repairs of these units to working under an automobile dashboard!

Hint: On startup, use a series 150 wat lamp to limit current while repairing. SInce these use a switching supply operating off the input line, use an isolation transformer for personal safety.
