My black handle broke off, too. I went to the hobby store and got a wood ball not too big and drilled a hole in it the same diameter as the screw that held in the original handle. Voila, I now have a wood ball knob handle on my crock pot lid. You just install it and cscrew it on just like you do a new knob on a kitchen cabinet.

I ran into the same problem locating this manual. Black and Decker hasthe manual for the 3 cup on their site but not the 6 cup. I did find amanual for the Rival brand version which appears to be the same thing.You can find it at the URL
