Did your replace lamp come on the screen or did you lose picture? Just because the LED indicator suggest replace lamp it doesn't mean it needs it. If your pix was dull or loss of brightness then replace it, if not then just reset your lamp timer, check your owners manual for instructions.

SOURCE: mitsubishi tv model wd 73727 and how to take tv

my mitsubishi 73" set is 4+ years old. all of a sudden the color is all wrong. after a couple of minutes of clear picture the colors change--blue is green and red is yellow. a little while later everything has a red tint to it and there is a line going down the center of the screen. to the left the picture is still relatively sharp, but the right hand side is terrible. I'm hoping this is just the lamp.

Lamp Problems

If you put in an osram "neolux" type lamp--these will NOT often work in Mits. tv sets. And MIts often sends out Neolux bulbs now. A phillpis bulb for this works MUCH better.

WD-82738 82-Inch six red blinks one yellow blink replaced chip to fix white pixels issue.

These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Blinking code detail, and fault finding procedure to many brand TVs are given. Mitsubishi tv wd-82738 no power

Most of these TV's have switched mode power supllies that run very hot. There is a likely chance that the capacitors have cooked (burst) on the PSU board. They are common capacitors. Open up the TV and with the mains electricity turned off, check the 'X' on top of the tubular capacitors. If they are bulging, rather than flat, then unsolder them and replace them.

I've repaired many of these sets because of this problem.
