White is usually the audio wire. Black is ground and red PTT. The shield goes to the mic ground connection. The pinout is in your TS-440 manual.

Hi.

You can download the manual for your motherboard here.

Inside you will find information of where does each connector go. Each connector on the case has a marking on it (HDD, PWR, RST or similar) which stands for hard disk LED, power button, reset button and so on. Connect it to the right place, and problem is solved.

If you need any further assistance, feel free to ask.

SOURCE: 120v hot tub wiring diagram

I would expect your tub is either 110 or 220. Currently you are set up for 110. Based on that ... you disregard the red wire.

If your tub can run on 220, you should run it on 220 as this is more economical.

You should probably have an electrician check this out and make any changes to assure proper and SAFE operation of your tub. You are using a GFI, correct?

The above drawing is the TS-440SAT mic connector pinout. The pin numbers should be visible on the MIC connector.

I have a Yaesu FT 101z HF Transceiver - whilst listening to a QSO the signal strength needle went off the scale and the sound went - after a few minutes the sound came back and then went again

It sounds like your RF GAIN control either needs some DEOXIT sprayed in, or replaced. Try turning the RF gain control when this happens and see if the signal returns. If it does, then live with it or try and find a replacement control. Also, you might want to try cleaning the plug in circuit board pins with a pink or drafting eraser. They do oxidize over time and the connections can get noisy.

I have a KENWOOD TS-940SAT HF Transceiver that powers up with the TX indicator on, no power output and no receive.

Very little information about the situation of the transceiver is provided, it might be a complex one. The Kenwood TS-940SAT features a built-in automatic antenna tuner covers the amateur bands 160 through 10 meters. It is advisable for you to reinstall the transceiver and follow the right set up step to see if it works out eventually.

What could cause Transceiver to shut when power output is increased over 40 watts?

My first guess would be that you have a bad/poor antenna, coax, causing high reflected power, next would your power source. You will need a 25A or higher rated power supply, with clean 13.5V power to run at the higher power levels. Meter the power supply voltage when you xmt at a lower power level, maby 30w, watch for drop in voltage. If voltage drops (some) at 30w, most likely supply won't hold voltage up at your 40w and higher power levels.
