Maytag LA712 - Maytag Washing Machines

In cold weather an old belt become hard and stiff. When it warms up it is fine. You can either change the belt or you can spray it with Belt Conditioner which helps to soften the rubber and also makes it stickier.

Sounds like gear case oil. Dark Red? Did you tip the washer over?

Do you mean the Boot Seal assembly and Tub bearing were replaced?????
Who did the replacement? Does your machine have a plastic tub cover with some 8 or so tabs that lock it onto the tub?? The gasket may be warped or the tabs are not locked in the right place.
If it has a metal tub cover then probably the rubber gasket is twisted and not seating properly between the tub and the cover.

OK, now you have those screws out...pull straight up from the bottom like your going to pull the front horizontal and the two front clips will release from the top lid...It does not have to come that far up,but far enough and when replacing it...get the two clips under the lid by holding the front in same position, but one clips in lid,lower front and install screws...

Usually this is caused by the water inlet valve sticking in the open position. If you can catch the washer while it's overflowing, unplug the washer. If the water stops, then the problem is most likely a pressure switch or pressure hose. If the water does not stop, it is most likely the water inlet valve.

Remove the front panel (2 screws bottom front) and then put the machine into the spin cycle. Be VERY carefful as the transmission also spins and can really injure you if you get to close. Observe the speed in the spin cycle. Then grab the plastic motor cover and gently pull the motor toward the outside corner. If the spin speed increases then you have a problem with either the 2 springs or 4 rollers inside the floating motor mount. To change the rollers you must remove the pulley and motor mount.

The springs are Item 18. You may have to explain to any parts center what rollers you want.

These washers are notorious for getting an injection bladder leak. The baldder is located atop the washer in the imlet hose assembly; here is the part:

Remove the injector(white pointed plastic looking thingy) from inside the old bladder and shove it up into the new bladder ; reinstall it back where it came from.
