If the machine has only 1 fill hose, I would connect it to the cold tap. If you connect to hot only, the machine goes through its cycle too fast and wont wash as good. The machine stays on a wash cycle until it heats up the water. If you connect to hot water, it will do a shorter wash because it doesn't have to heat the water up as much. The shorter wash time, decreases how good the wash result is.
Look up the senior officers of Bosch and contact them directly regarding your question. (I believe the corporate offices are in Europe--contacting the US offices yielded nothing.) A few years ago I did this when experiencing Bosch dishwasher issues not being repaired while covered under warranty. After contacting the CEO, we got a new replacement.
Do you have any further information? Do you hear the water arms moving? Is this an issue of the detergent, possibly, or is this definitely something with the dishwasher? If it is the latter, I would suggest taking the racks out, and checking the bottom for anything clogging the works. A small lid or silverware may have dropped down there.
