Sunbeam heritage series 2346

Turned on mom's mixer that has been idle for 5 years. Makes a very loud noise when it is rotating. Is it safe to use this way? I did not have any bowl on the mixer, just wanted to see if it would spin. Thanks Donna

Some lubrication might be in order. Grease will dry out and cake so it won't lubricate what it's meant to.

Testimonial: "Where & what do I use to lubricate it with? Answer is very vague. What kind of oil & where am I putting it, on the bowl spinner?"

    Use the same oil you would use on a sewing machine. 3 in 1 oil is best. You should apply oil to the motor shaft bearings. Some motors have oil holes that allow oil to wick into a cotton pad so several drops of oil or enough to saturate the pad. Use a light weight grease on the teeth of the gears.

This is typical of Sunbeam mixers. The solution is to throw that piece of junk out and never buy anything from Sunbeam again. They can't stand behind their products because they know they are junk. They would go out of business if they tried to repair/replace all of the useless appliances they sell.

The mixer turn table won't turn? Its only a year old?
Don't know a solution, because I am having the same damn problem.
I am very discouraged with this product.

Middle better comes loose
Try placing some "braces" rubber bands around the shafts of the beaters. This should tighten the hold of the shaft with the mixer and keep them more straight.
