When switching on the unit and loading a cd it can take a long while to register the cd then it will play for a few seconds then stop. this will clear after a few minutes and play as normal, however if i switch the unit on and dont put a cd in for 10 minutes or so the cd will load and play instantly with no problems.is this a common issue with the cdj 800 mk2? does anyone have any ideas

No this is not a common issue. If your traverse assembly is not damaged, then it's possible the loading motor might be the issue.

In either case, I would suggest professional assistance.

Hope this helps.

My dvd player tray does'nt open when it should and when i insert a disc to play, it only plays for a few seconds then it stops but the disc continues to spin

Hello
The laser pickup unit of your DVD player may either be faulty or dusty. Just put in a cleaning disc into it and play it for at least three times, and check. If it does not help you, the laser pickup unit of your device should be replaced with same type and number. Just check the loading belt too. OK.

AIWA ED37 WAS SKIPPING WHEN PLAYING CD'S ... NOW WON'T PLAY CD AT ALL. CLEANED LENS AND GOT CD TO PLAY FOR A FEW SECONDS, BUT STOPPED PLAYING AFTER THAT. IS REPAIR POSSIBLE, AND, IF SO, WHERE?

Well, you proved that it is a laser pickup problem, and the only way to fix this is change the whole assembly "costly" or replace the unit "best option"

I have an RCA DVD/VHS combo with TVG. The DVD

This is a work-around rather than a solution. We put an audio CD in the tray and after closing the tray the unit begins to play the music. After waiting a few seconds we open the tray and quickly substitute a DVD and it loads OK. We had also tried cleaning the player to no avail. The CD approach is a pain but it does allow us to play DVDs. Jim

CANNOT OPEN PLAYER

To open the drawer, unplug the unit while the power is on (so that the drawer doesn't try to open on its own). Keeping the unit flat on a table, look underneath and find the small hole where you can turn the loading gear. Rotate it until the unit opens, using a standard flat screwdriver. The loading gear is a white plastic part with a slot in it. You should be able to see it rotate if you move the drawer by hand.

After manually removing the disc, turn the gear with your screwdriver until the drawer is all the way in, The gear should be able to be turned for three or four more turns when the drawer stops loading. If it doesn't, turn it a bit further unit it "pops" past one more gear notch. It should then turn freely for a few more turns, at this point you should stop. Do not force it once it stops the second time. This is the "Disc Loaded" position.

Power the unit back up and see if it loads a disc and plays correctly.

Pioneer elite pd-f27 300+1 cd changer

I've owned two of these players, one currently, and both exhibit this behavior. Although frustrating, it seems to be inherent in the vertical loading mechanism. Every finicky CD I pull out of the PD-F27 plays perfectly in my single-loading tray player, including CD-Rs. One would expect more of an "Elite" product, but there you are.

My CD changer's disk tray keeps opening up, refuses to play discs

You have a problem with the try control circuit. It could be the switch is leaking across itself. Could be a problem with the tray motor control IC, or the Microprocessor is not reseting the open tray line correctly, or theres a cam assembly inside the unit that tells the microprocessor where everything is by means of small micro/leaf type switches thats out of alighnment or broken. If its seven years old, you got more then it was designed for and I would'nt invest a dime or the time into the repair of this unit. Time to take a trip to the electronics store. Good luck
