The synthesiser IC inside the remote control is faulty. It can't be replaced. it will be best to buy an other remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.
To select a proper universal remote control, you should know about the number of digits to its set-up codes. There are 3 digit, 4 digit, 5 digit, 2 digit and even single digit codes, to some brand devices. After confirming this, check the sites linked here. Both the sites have set-up code list and set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Check which brand remote control has set-up code/s to your device brand, and buy that one according to availability. Brand name of the remote control isn't a matter, but it should have set-up codes in its code list, to the device brand you have.
Please note: Every new universal remote control will have set-up code list, and set-up procedure along with its pack. Never accept a remote control, that hasn't both of this. For more details about the set-up codes, visit the sites.

Universal remote controls are available at most of the electronic spare part selling shops. Visit some on-line sites too, which deals with electronic spare parts.

I have a SLV-N55 SONY VCR. The remote is RMT-V402A VCR (new and the light works). The VCR will not come on using the remote. Otherwise it works just fine. Is there a way to check out the VCR sensor?

if possible. reinstall your vcr code in your existing remote.
consider using another remote [ set to your vcrs code ] -- remotes sometimes low cost at dollar / thrift stores.

Why is the battery, door and brake warnning lights are on

bad door switch, dose your dome light go out when you close the door? brake light can be a tail light out, put 4way flashers on and see if on doesnt flash. but most common is low brake fluid in the reserve. if its not low a common problem is its sensor an easy fix the replace comes with a new cap just unplug the 2 wires on wireline and plug in the new . battery light comes on if the battery is low or if the alternater is bad . jump the car, once running disconnect the neg. battery terminal if the engine stops the alternater is bad if not get the battery tested

Remote key lock stopped working after wal mart put new battery in and now my head lights stopped workin!!!

check fuse for low beam, then possibly both low beam globes. they could have blown.
the key remote may need reprograming into system try put key in ignition in on position then press remote buttons a couple of times then try if no good need to go to dealer to be programed into system again or it needs repairing/replacing.
