Hello. You will need to replace the icemaker. The swicth in the head is causing the arm to stay up and is not repairable. If you can get me the model number I can get you the part number.

Does not make ice

Either the ice maker is not calling for water or the ice maker water valve is not working, there are many different types of water valves so its very dificult to tell you what to do without a model number or picture of the valve, but generaly speaking if you VERY CAREFULLY put 120V to a water valve it should open and alow water to flow, you can try this for the valve that has a water line going to the ice maker and see if it lets water go to the ice maker, sometimes there are two valves that must open, one main valve and then another for either the water dispensor or the ice maker. a better first test might be to test the water valve for resistance across the coil and compair it to another coil and see if its close-ish. also you can test some ice makers and see if they are putting 120V to the water valve by bypassing the bimetal and causing the ice maker to go into a cycle, but again a model number is required to know what kind of ice maker you have., even a picture would help

Kenmore Coldspot side by side ice maker not working, red lite bliking

Often I find your ice maker on the Kenmore side by side thefill tube frozen. The fill tube is ablack rubber hose located above and to the right of your ice maker. Simplypinch the tube to see if it frozen solid. If it is, use a hair dryer set onmedium to defrost the fill line. http://www.on-timeappliance.com/kenmorerefrigeratorrepairdallastx.html

Kenmore Coldspot Model 57577791 S/S Ice Maker Problem

Probably the solenoid (electric valve that opens when the ice maker calls for water ) is leaking and has to be replaced (it's a very common problem ) . To be sure the solenoid is the problem , turn off the ice maker by raising the arm up , and check after a few hours if is any water in the ice tray , if yes the solenoid is leaking , if not , the ice maker control board has a problem , and to replaced it will cost you almost as a new ice maker.

How do you remove the ice maker in side by side kenmore refrigerator, the kind with dispenser in the door. It won't turn to release the ice, and has a solid block of ice in it now.

Most ice makers hangs on the wall with three screws. two at the top and one at the bottom. Just loosen these screws and the ice maker will lift off the bracket and you can then reach the wiring harness to unplug it.

Water does not seem to be flowing into ice maker.

Hi and I hope this will help. You can manually turn the timer and see if any water is dispensed into the ice cube tray . If no water is dispensed check if the valve is any good . A solenoid in the valve opens to allow water in to the ice maker. Sometimes timers stick too.

Kenmore Ice Maker

Sounds like a water valve problem to me. Force the ice maker to cycle. (turn it off and let it get cold for at least an hour then turn it back on). Test for voltage on the ice maker side of the valve. The valve is usually in the back near the floor. Just follow the water line. Another solution. switch the wires on the water valve. then try the water dispenser and see if it makes the ice maker fill up. See if when the ice maker cycles water comes out the door. If the ice maker causes water in the door , replace the valve, If door switch causes ice maker to fill up replace ice maker again.
