Put your ear to the side of the tub and momentarily turn on the jet pump, if you hear a humming sound then you need to replace the pump motor capacitor.

Here is the manual for the tub. The switch is an air switch with tube. You have to make sure the tube has no holes in it or replace it if you can. look on the manual it will help you out.

We had the same thing happen to our Aker brand whirlpool tub. The fix was a replacement timer/control piece which is connected by two wires to the pump behind the tub (access wall) and plugged into the outlet; however, this cost $150 for the part and $85 for the service call (all he did was take the part out and ship me the replacement part which was easy to do). Problem I have now is that the motor won't shut off unless I unplug it. I am waiting for a call back from the repairman who sent me the part.

issue with the Mfg process. needs to be exchanges with the factory. it cannot be fixed and expected to be ok for the life of your home.
