To recieve signals on 10 or 11 metres with the same antenna is usually without problem, it's when you try transmitting that the correct antenna length is vital. If it's not correct, you can , at the least, get very little power being radiated, and at worst, the power going back into the transmitter and cooking it. If you have to ask these questions, you should not be on the 10 m amateur band anyway.

SOURCE: connex coyote hunter will not transmitt

It's possible (but not very likely) that the final amplifier blew out after you lost the tip of the FireStik antenna.

SOURCE: how to convert a connex

That needs to be done by someone that knows how, theres soldering involved. most cb shops will do it for $free-$10.00... Don't pay any more than that.. there are no parts nor is it hard so they shouldn't charge much.

Connex 4600 turbo what band do I need to operate in on channel 19 citizen band

This is a 10 meter Amateur Radio. You need a license to operate it. From my research it doesn't do CB Radio Frequencies.

Here says
Frequency Range 10 Meter 28~29 MHz
https://www.walcottradio.com/connex-cx-4600-turbo-150-watt-10-meter-amateur-radio-p-2505.html

and here shows your unit doesn't go low enough

26.960-27.410 MHz This Radio Standards Specification (RSS) sets out general requirements for, and provides information on, the certification of radio apparatus that is used for the general radio service, also known as the citizens band (CB), operating in the 26.960-27.410 MHz frequency band.

Can I tune my antenna using the meter on my radio?

yes,but you want to make sure your antenna is tuneable. If your SWR is to high or to low you want to be able to adjust the antenna to bring the match up or down.Anything under a 1.9:1 is ok but the lower the better

So im gonna have to get my own SWR meter to tune my antennas right?

not really. Many radios come with one built into the meter on the radio. For those with none you will need an external SWR meter. I would recomend a trucker 2000.

Fix my connex 3400 hb sideband button

Hi there, if you are talking about the Connex CX 3400 HP there is no sideband or SSB on this radio. It is only AM and FM 10 meter Ham radio. Many people do modify these radios to include the 11 meter frequencies which is the CB band. Maybe knowing the actual bands and their frequencies will help some too this radio does have 6 different bands ranging from (Band A. 28.015 thru 28.455) (Band B. 28.145 thru 28.585) (Band C. 28.115 thru 28.555) (Band D. 28.085 thru 28.525) (Band E. 28.055 thru 28.495) (Band F. 28.025 thru 28.465.) I hope this will help you. Bob

Can"t transmit

I believe that if the radio is not tuned to the antennae it can take out the transmit crystals and the radio will be inoperative. You will have to take it to a shop that works on CB Radios to have it checked.

10 meter portable

There is no factory made 10 meter CB Radio made for US use. CB Radios use 11 meters, and the FCC doesn't allow the combination of 10 and 11 meter radios combines. Although, many people modify 10 meter radios to work on the 11 meter ( CB ) band, it's not legal. Good Luck

Matching Antenna, or ??????

If the antenna is tunable, you definitely need to start out by having the swr set properly on the antenna. Also, make sure the plastic ferrel, (the small round white piece) is between the top of the antenna bracked and the antenna itself. It is there to make sure the antenna does not ground out to the vehicle. If the antenna is grounding out, it will be like no antenna at all. I have also had a few customers that have had broken coaxes straight out of the factory package on cheaper antenna setups.
