To recieve signals on 10 or 11 metres with the same antenna is usually without problem, it's when you try transmitting that the correct antenna length is vital. If it's not correct, you can , at the least, get very little power being radiated, and at worst, the power going back into the transmitter and cooking it. If you have to ask these questions, you should not be on the 10 m amateur band anyway.

That needs to be done by someone that knows how, theres soldering involved. most cb shops will do it for $free-$10.00... Don't pay any more than that.. there are no parts nor is it hard so they shouldn't charge much.
