My Philips DVD Recorder does not accept a DVD disc shows no disk. The DVD disc does not revolve. A CD disc revolves but shows junknown

u mabe inserting the wrong disc all phillips cd recorders uses cd-r or cd-rw that says digital audio.

This happens sometime when the drop
down menu in the recording program is
not set correctly for the dvd recorder it
may be set for another recording device
or the dvd player. If this in not the case
try removelng the dvd recorder in device
manager and leting it reinstall

It also says "audio" or "music" if you look closely. Data disks won't record on consumer recorders.

Seems your lazer is shot try an external drive if it works you will need to replace original drive,should still be under warranty.

If this problem occurs only at this cd/dvd it's a disk problem. If it occurs on various disks try using a cd/dvd cleaner set, a wet one is better. Follow the instructions on the set. The main idea is to put one drip of the included liquid at the set (usually isopropyl alcohol) at a specific place (like small brush) on the disk surface and play this disk. This way the "brush" will clean up the laser lens and after that the cd/dvd player will be able to read the disks. BE CAREFULL not to put too much liquid on the "brush". In case you can, use a Q-tip with isopropyl alcohol to clean up the cd lens manually. In case this doesn’t solve your problem, the cd player needs laser lens replacement by a technician.

Depends how its marked if its DVD-RW it use minus, if its DVD+RW its uses plus. If its
DVD-RAM its for DVD+/-RW (and CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+/-R).

This player only accepts DVD+RW rewritable discs. Some players are also fussy with which brands you use. If you are using DVD+RW and it isin't working try another brand of disc.Hope this helps.

Put the disc back into the recorder.
Goto the setup menu.
Select Disc Edit. Press OK
Select Finalise. Press OK

Your DVD player is made by Funai (for future reference)

Don't ever buy anykind Philips or LG! Their software are full of bugs they can't solve.
