So when you power on your console it turns off immediately? That may be a problem internally and you would have to have it repaired. The only way to really test this to test other outlets as well to see if it turns on or another PS4 power cable. Also try another video port on your tv or monitor. I personally haven't seen this on PS4 before but on the xbox sometimes the xbox wont come one if one of the cables for video is loose on one side or the port on the tv or monitor
The PS4 will allow you to use an external drive to store data other than games. If you put a game on an external drive, it wont work. The drive in the unit is 500Gb
If the light is any color besides white, Sony offers a collection of fixes for this PS4 problem, including an option to get a replacement if none of them work. From what we can tell this issue is mostly past, but if you have this problem you should.
Check the HDMI cable
Check the hard drive
Make sure the PS4 is ventilated - Blow out your vents with a can of compressed air.
Make sure your HDMI connection is secure, and in the right place. The PS4 has the same feature as the PS3, that it won't power on completely if it doesn't detect a video source.
To stop your PS4 from ejectin disks, remove the glossy HDD panel, and locate the PS4 eject screw its small at the top of the PS4 (by top I mean the way you would see it if you had the PS4 stood up vertically), and tighten it.
