There is likely to be a problem with your machine 's components in the spin cycle that is triggering the circuit breaker in the main box. Have your machine checked / repaired / replaced. The circuit The
breaker should not trip if an identifiable problem has been rectified.
The fact that the problem only occurs during the particular part of the cycle indicates that there is possibly a problem with the
programmer at that part of the cycle, you may have a rotary programming/ mechanical programming knob?

This tells me that you do not have an overload situation. There is a short, and/or one or more faulty breakers possibly including the main breaker.
Even an experienced DIY'er with electrical knowledge would probably contact an electrician at this point. If there is a potential problem with the main breaker then it is best to get professional help.

Hotpoint Aquarius WDL540 Washer/Dryer - The machine runs a cycle up until a fast spin - then trips the electric.

The issue with the Hotpoint Aquarius WDL540 Washer/Dryer tripping the electricity during the fast spin cycle could be due to several factors. Here are some steps you can take to try to resolve the issue:
  1. Check the drum balance: Make sure the load is evenly balanced in the drum. If the load is unbalanced, it can cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  2. Check the motor: If the motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the machine to trip the electricity during the fast spin cycle.
  3. Check the belt: If the belt is loose or damaged, it could cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  4. Check the suspension: If the suspension is worn or damaged, it could cause the drum to spin unevenly, which could trip the electricity.
  5. Check the wiring: If the wiring is damaged or frayed, it could cause a short circuit, which could trip the electricity.
If you're unable to resolve the issue with the above steps, it's possible that the machine may need to be repaired. In this case, you may want to consider contacting Hotpoint customer support for information on repair options.

Machine keeps tripping out when starting wash cycle - electrics have been checked by electrician - no problems- have managed to get it to spin but not to wash

Hi

The washing machine is obviously drawing too much current for the breaker to handle. This could be due to the washing machine drawing more that it should or because the breaker cannot handle the current the machine needs, coupled with the other machines on the ring main. If the fuse on the plug of the washing machine does not blow, then it could be that there are too many appliances on the ring main. The fuse on the machine may not blow however, if the breaker has a faster blow time than the fuse in the plug. Try plugging the washing machine into another ring main. Or try plugging out all the other appliances on the same ring main and test it out.

If the ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) is tripping only when the washing machine is running then something in the machine is faulty.

One common problem is the heating element. Over time they tend to crack and when the water gets in, the ELCB will trip out. This can be problematic to diagnose as offten the element will only trip after a period of heating. Bottom line, if it is tripping the ELCB then it is dangerous and should be fixed before any further use.

Is there a fuse or circuit breaker i can reset if 220v was put to my washing machine? i was rewiring the breaker panel and got two circuits reversed, the washing machine circuit and the water heater...

No power Check to see whether power is getting to the washing machine. Is it plugged in? Has a fuse blown or is a circuit breaker tripped? Lid switch If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it. Some machines have a special lid-switch fuse near the lid switch, inside the control panel. If this fuse blows, the unit won't fill with water until you replace the fuse

Our miele condenser dryer with the miele washing machine will often trip the whole house's electricity. Sometimes it will trip on the house circuit board. while other times it trips the external trip...

have the neutral power connection on that circuit and back to the main house panel and then have the neutral connection checked at the power companies side also, it sounds like you have a high resistance neutral connection somewhere in the circuit and its looking for another return path due to the high resistance on the line to another feed circuit line to make connection

Put washing machine on and it automatically trips

If it is tripping the breaker, the first question that has to be asked is how many other appliances do you have on the same circuit. When the washer goes to spin it will start to draw slightly more electricity than once its at a full spin(much like the energy needed to get a car moving is greater than once it is up to speed), but it is not enough to trip the circuit unless there the circuit is already near capacity.

Before attempting to check electric of the washer, check and remove items from the circuit. To know what circuit runs your washer you will need to take a pigtail or a radio and plug it into the outlet Go to circuit breaker box and turn on and off circuits until the radio goes out.. Once you acertain what circuit your washer is own, go throughout the house and see what circuts are shared with the washer. Unplug any that are shared with washer. Your Hotpoint needs no more than 15 amps to run but if your overloaded on the circuit, the spin is enough for it to trip the circuit. Try washer and see if you go through the full cycle.

Flashing lights and trips the electric

Are you around when the breaker trips? It almost seems as though an electrical connection is getting wet. Especially if it won't let you reset the breaker. Another reason for not letting you reset the breaker could be an overload that tripped but that to me would be within the machine, it shouldn't trip at the panel. You get pull the machine apart and check for these things. Look for and wetness or wire connections being crossed, anything like that. Something at the spin cycle is shorting out and tripping out your breaker. Also is your dryer circuit properly sized (30AMP Breaker with 10/3 wire)?

Ref Hotpoint - aquarius extra - WD64 Washer trips the electric just before the end of the wash cycle. Fault always happen at the same point. If manualy turn nob (on to dry) before end of the wash cycle...

I had this problem. It is not to do with the switch.
The point at which it trips, will be when the spin starts to get fast.

There is a design flaw - and this is particularly easy to see in the dark, as you can see the spark!

The bundle of wires that links to the end of the motor rubs against the motor mount, and one or more wires break through the rubber insulation shorting whenever the drum and motor start bouncing around. Find the break, and use a stack of insulation tape to re-insulate - better still, get a professional to replace the wire.

That worked instantly for me, and have no other problems since.

Whirlpool awm5125/4 washing machine

If the washer seems to complete all of its cycles, but it doesn't spin: 1) Be sure the load of clothes is not lop-sided. If the tub becomes unbalanced, it may spin erratically or not at all. Open the lid after 2 minute gap and reposition the clothes. This automatically resets an off-balance shut-off switch. Close the lid and re-try. 2) Check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that strikes it. If the plastic tab is broken, the washer may halt during the spin cycle. If the switch doesn't click when you press and release it, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person. 3) The belt may be loose, worn, or broken. If you're fairly handy, tighten or replace the belt, otherwise call an appliance repairperson. Pl post back results
