It will fill but once full the motor will only spin for a few seconds then stop

I have a Jen-air dishwasher (model JDB1100AWS). It will fill but once full the motor will only spin for a few seconds then stop, then pause for about 5-10 sec and spin for another 2 sec. It does this for a cycle of 4 spins and then the control panel lights go out as if it were done. When done, it has not drained the water. I can start and then immediately cancel a cycle and it will drain the pan. I replaced the control panel less than a year ago. so the control panel is new-ish the motor does spin. the machine fills and empties. what are your thoughts?

IT MAY BE DUE TO A RINSE PROBLEM?

WASHER WILL NOT RINSE:
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle, the most likely cause is the water valve. What happens is the water valve will stop letting cold water into the washer; therefore, once the washer gets to rinse it will either stop or not do anything during the whole rinse cycle.
This is because when you selected your water temperature, you selected warm/cold or hot/cold. The hot water came in and you didn't notice any problems. When it got to rinse, the cold water the cold water won't come in. Therefore, the washer does nothing.
To check the water valve, first cut the water off and remove the hoses off the back of the washer. Then one at a time point the hoses inside the washer tub and turn the water back on. If you don't have good water pressure, turn the water back off and remove the strainer that should be in one end of the hose. Inspect the strainer to see if it is stopped up, clean it and reinstall it. Now repeat this test. If you have good water pressure now, reinstall hose and your problem is fixed.
If you still don't have good water pressure, the problem is in your house plumbing and you need to call a plumber. If you had good water pressure the first time you performed the test, the water valve is bad and needs replacing.
TIMER
If your washer doesn't go through the washer rinse cycle the timer may be the problem. Sometimes the timer gets stuck in the middle of the cycle or won't turn at all. If the washer runs, but the timer doesn't turn, the timer is bad and needs replacing.
Do you have anti-flood hoses leading to the machine. If you do there is probably a loose tube in the back causing a small leak. When the hoses detect that water is still flowing after a certain amount of time due to the leak it shuts down and causes the machine to turn off during the rinse/spin cycle

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.

Isolate power and water supply and gain access to the main drum motor. Check for condition of carbon brushes by removing them and repla
ce if severely worn. Check wiring loom around motor and right back to module controller. The clicking is obviously power being supplied to motor via the loom to the motor. finally check for any dry solder joints or burnt areas on the circuit board controlling the motor.

Dishwasher starts then pauses and drains.

Fixed! I had the issue where the cycle would start, the KUDS30IXBL8 would hum 4-5 times and then drain. Plastic folk pieces jammed in the disposer. These instructions took a few minutes (only 5 screws and a couple clips) to figure out how to take it apart, and it only took 60 seconds to put back together. Leaking at the bottom of the door and unsure where plastic door seal goes.

This dishwasher will leak if there is to much water in the unit.
I have the same dishwasher with a different problem.
Mine won't circulate the water. I have not use it for a while and some water will back feed from the sink and fill the dishwasher, so if I don't check for that problem once in a while I see it start to leak.
It never has done that when the unit was working....

It sounds like the motor is going out. The motor will shut down when it gets to hot and once it cools it will try to work again. Motors are around $150.00 on the average. You can look at the motor and get the part number off of it and then look on eBay and find one a little cheaper.

No water pressure.. bad pump or motor?

Try filling water from the front manually. Check whether every thing works normal.

If works OK, check your water inlet for free flow.Try the inlet hose externally by flushing water through the hose.

Check whether any air lock. If air lock noticed, air will flow in broken streams.Flowt will become OK after some time.

Try now in the machine by connecting.

Dishwasher starts to fill then just hums

Sounds like a motor problem. Behind the chopper is an access to the impeller, try turning the impeller or the chopper blade and see if the motor will rotate. If it doesn't, then something is stuck preventing the motor from running.
