The carb is factory set you need to remove carb you will then see two screws one marked L and the other H with a small hacksaw cut a slot across both screws don't worry about cutting into carb body this can't be helped screw both screws fully in then back them off 1 and 1/4 turns this rough sets high and low running start saw set low speed first adjust screw in or out to get best low running then rev saw to max.and adjust max revs do the same as you did with the low speed screw to obtain max revs this should solve your problem.

1977 GS750 proper fuel mix screw adjustments

The 'fuel mix' screw is only for tickover as the main jet is closed at that point. The other screw is for tickover speed.
If you are not experienced in setting up twin carbs, you will have fun.
Screw both mixture screws in whilst counting the turns and part of turn. Remember the turns in case you get mixed up.
Unscrew them both 2 1/4 turns. That is a good starting point.
With a hose pipe, place one end near your ear and the other to listen at each carbourettor. You are listening for even vacuum sounds from both.
With the tickover screw, that will be obvious but as I say, what you do to one must be done to the other or it will tickover rough.

The larger screw is the throttle stop and the smaller screw is tickover mixture control. Unscrew the throttle stop and it ticks over slower, unscrew the smaller screw and the mixture has more air on tickover.
Perhaps the float valve is not set up correctly and is letting too high a level of fuel in?
Hope that helps.
